Benson keeps talking about that the Sun Belt needs to be like the other conferences (or at least the great majority of them) and have a championship game. It is obvious after last year when no 12th team was added and so far this year no 12th team has been added that either the school (s) we want don't want to join the Sun Belt or the schools who are willing do not have the required 9 votes or both.

And as you or one of you fellow Eagles noted with the deregulation link, the ACC and Big XII are jointly pursuing legislation that permits conferences to determine if they have a title game and how it will be set up. If the Big XII is able to have a title game with 10, we can have one with 11.

There would be no need for divisions nor a 12th team, there would be a need to adopt something more binding than guidelines to determine who makes the game and where it is held.

Is a conference championship game really worth much to G-5 conferences? Do those games make the conferences money? If they do, then by all means, have one. If not, I don't see any advantage to playing one. In fact, USM knocked Houston out of a BCS bowl in the CUSA championship game three years ago. That cost everybody in CUSA about $1M each.
