For several reasons:
- It's not an FBS conference
- MVC replaced Creighton with Loyola Chicago, Wichita St. may be looking to go elsewhere...which could turn the league into another version of the Summit
- The league hasn't fought for us when we've been on the NCAA bubble

I dont think the fans are unhappy with the MVC. As you said, its a very good conference. It's just that we also realize that if we are ever going to reach our full potential as a university that we are going to have to make the move to the FBS sooner or later and we don't have a lot more time left to drag our feet.

I think some at Missouri State have come to the realization that the Valley is as far as Missouri State can go without FBS football.

They aren't going to get in the Big East. The A10 is unlikely with St. Louis being the current far west outpost of that league and the only other non-FBS league of significance is the WCC which is too far and too private.

To have any other options in the future, that are good basketball leagues they have to go FBS.

What do you think their chances are of getting an invitation to the SBC this year?

A few months ago, the talk was that Missouri State need only ask (same for JMU). The question is, if the league pulls the trigger on a third option this year, will that still be true?

I was told JMU was ready to ask and had started talking to the conference. MSU has asked for one more year to prepare for the move. I was also told that NMSU was even being considered for all sports. All that was left was for the East and the West to get on the same page.

There are also two members that are able to vote now who weren't last year.

I know TK is on board with getting to 12, not sure about App's AD.

Which goes back to the brokered deal theory. That in the end, to get it done, it will have to be a multi-team vote.

We are absolutely interested in 12. And I'm pretty certain Mo State and JMU would get a yes vote from us.

This is the correct answer.

What would a combination of NMSU all sports/MSU/JMU end up putting the numbers at?

13 football and 15 oly?

If we got JMU, MSU, and NMSU all sports I would never want to hear a bad word about Benson again as that would be remarkable and a scenario I give a 0% chance as of today.

You have to be kidding? Benson has too many bad things to ignore. No doubt you really are not paying attention to so many matters he either ignores, or incompetent to fix. He sure fixed his daughters income for February/March.

How much control do you really think Benson has right now. If he had his way, Liberty would have been added last year.

This would be the most ideal situation...but I am willing to give Idaho a few years to see if Petrino Jr can grow the program first.

Congrats Idaho! You've won an all expense paid trip to the Big Sky!

Why would you give that credit to Benson? He doesn't decide who gains admittance to the Sun Belt.
