It does appear that way. I’m hopeful it will be an ideal transition. Our outgoing AD is an absolute monster at his job and a really great guy. Gonna be hard to follow him.

I don't know much about him, but they have solid roundball and a good enough football program to get serious consideration at moving up to FBS. Sounds like they have good direction.

I mentioned on Herdfans that I thought you might look for someone with ties to a power school to help with scheduling and get a little different perspective, like an assistant AD from the ACC or something, like we did.

One thing I noticed with JMU or with Bourne, etc, they only like to hire mainly those with experience at the particular position sought.

Yep. No “assistant whatevers” need apply.

Chesney (FB), Spradlin (MBB), and now Roan (AD) will form the next power-trio for JMU athletics. They have big shoes to fill, but they’ll initially be reporting to Interim President Charlie King, who in large part is responsible for building JMU’s athletic facilities. Charlie will be sure to help the “new team” get off to a good start.
