I'm back. They were not hitting QBs today but everyone else was tackled to the ground. This article sums it up, it was a physical practice that got chippy at times. They went hard today.

The article also mentions the top seven receivers plus Grayson Barnes, who's really a receiver too: Trayvon Rudolph, Keyshaun Pipkin, Dane Pardridge, Kenji Lewis, Andrew McElroy, Kyle Thomas and Cam Thompson. I didn't see Lewis or McElroy get thrown at much in scrimmage sessions but they look good in drills FWIW. I thought Pardridge stood out today. He had several good catches and returned punts too. Jalen Johnson was rehabbing something so he participated in some drills but not scrimmage periods.
Most of the guys who will see the field this year are already known because it's such a veteran team. Tight ends were Tristen Tewes, Chris Carter, Izu Ozoh and Jake Appelget, the transfer from Nebraska. Backs are Antario Brown, Gavin Williams, Justin Lynch and Jaylen Poe. Brock Lampe is at fullback.
The first O-line was Evan Malcore, JJ Lippe, Logan Zschernitz, John Champe and Evan Buss left to right. The second O-line was Michael Jimmar/Christian Medlock at left tackle, Tommy Paasch at left guard, Matt Schooley and Landon Hron at center, Luke Skartvedt at right guard, and Abiathar Curry at right tackle. Drew Hoth and Luke Pinnick were not dressed today.
I paid less attention to the defense today, but most of the known guys were out there. I'm pretty sure Raishein Thomas and Roy Williams were the first D-ends. Jalonnie Williams was out there quite a bit too. I didn't notice Neveah Sanders a lot but you know he's going to play, and Pierce Oppong got in there as well.
Tackles were Davonte O'Malley, Demond Taylor, Skyler Gill-Howard, Cade Haberman and Mark Hensley as expected. Reggie Jean played some too.
The first two linebackers are Christian Fuhrman and Jaden Dolphin, with a bunch of others behind them. At Huskie I noticed Jashon Prophete, and I'm sure others as well. The top corners from last year were out there. As noted earlier, the first safeties were Nate Valcarcel and Muhammad Jammeh, backed by Jordan Hansen and Cyrus McGarrell. The defense substituted a lot as always in these scrimmages.
Overall I think the team is really solid. Every position has veteran guys who've played and had some degree of success. The big question how much production they get from the QB. The scrimmage periods were well-played today. They look like a veteran team out there.
