Well, since Calipari left Memphis for Kentucky, it would seem pretty normal for Memphis fans to check out what's happening when Calipari allegedly is leaving Kentucky.

By leaving now, he has basically added at least 2 seasons of guaranteed $8-10 million in salary. So instead of getting fired next year with 35 million guaranteed(2024-5 salary and buyout) he now gets a guaranteed 45-50 million in salary from Arkansas.

Plus, he isnt sullied by a firing so he can keep doing his national insurance commercials AND he gets to start over at a school with huge resources that doesn't boo him every time he walks his dog.

Calipari finally says goodbye to UK, but instead of mentioning Arkansas, says he and Ellen are exploring several opportunities. Either way, the coaching carousel has been put in high gear.

He's a really good coach but when the fanbase is so against you so quickly I don't know how you will be successful. He will have no leeway in building the program the way he wants. Any loss will be an inquisition. If he loses three or four games in the OOC schedule the negativity will take life and he'll be gone in two years.

I give him two years, if things go well. They'll need a little time to plan their next choice.
