Had a great weekend!

Softball swept North Texas, who is now tied for 2nd in the AAC. Softball plays at Auburn on Wednesday, before traveling to Memphis this coming weekend. Memphis is currently last in the AAC.

Baseball won the series against Tulane. That puts us tied with Tulane for 8th in the AAC. Baseball plays at Mississippi State on Tuesday & then goes to last-place Rice this coming weekend.

They’re definitely struggling since Graham retired.

Went to my first game on Friday and was surprised at the lack of clapping. Softball had a game running at the same time and I felt myself drawn over there just by the vibes alone. Incredible weather for baseball/softball watching.

I don't know that it is relevant to Rice, but there's some big NIL money going on in college baseball in Texas.

Also Tulane struggling. Generally a good baseball program

Baseball update (from Casey's email for this week):

Good Morning!

We are coming off a good week winning 3 or 4 games beating Jacksonville State on Tuesday before winning 2 out of 3 versus Charlotte. Currently we are sitting in 9th place in the league but only 2 games out of 3rd place. Our guys have played better as of late and I am pushing them to continue to improve as we head down the final stretch of the season.

Looking Ahead
We have 3 conference weekends remaining and 3 mid-week games as well. Wednesday we host South Alabama at 4:00 here at Young Memorial before heading south to FAU for the weekend. FAU is a solid club that is currently 2 games up on us in the league. It would be big is you could find a way to take the series on the road. I believe we need to win 5 of our remaining 9 conference games to secure a spot in the conference tournament. While that will be a challenge as we are on the road of 2 of those weekends I believe it is doable for our group.
