NEXTLab in the News and JWST person as well
Senator John Cornyn was at ACU touring the advanced nuclear research reactor laboratory, NEXTLab, this week. He was impressed and gave a fine news conference that was reported by TV and others. His quick comprehension of the complex research and engineering was very impressive. Lots of news people and cameras inside the SERC. I even got directed to the news of the event on my home page browser. He said he knew his assignment was to now support ACU's nuclear effort in Washington DC and get ACU's name on materials we need at the Department of Energy. He praised the students and said they would be the energy leaders of the future. All in all, a very supportive visit.

Later this week at a Presidential Dinner, ACU-ex Dr. Scott Acton will be honored as an Alumni for his major role in the James Webb Space Telescope. Scott was a key person synchronizing the mirrors of the Telescope and for his astonishing thoughts when viewing the first images. Galaxies looking back into time seemed to go on forever, a surprise for the scientific community. ACU is not your normal university.
