RE: It's official, SMU just stole USC's basketball coach
I predict SMU will win an ACC football championship before 2030.
Basketball? Interesting.
SMU has the money to buy great coaches. And players. And they will. Both.
Too bad the Hill is landlocked.

There's no high like a Cougar High, especially how much higher UH is than ECU in the conference realignment pecking order.

When I saw the original report, I immediately thought of Buzz Williams going from Marquette to Virginia Tech.
No matter how much it is spun by reporter contacts of coaches, moves like these have nothing to do with conference affiliation or really money (it is often very similar, if not the same). It's about resetting a clock and securing long-term job security. Some coaches see the writing on the wall and flee a job where they know they're on hot seat going into next year. Enfield is no different.
I don't think anyone can realistically argue that SMU is a more prestigious basketball job than USC, respectively.
Given you are a Marquette fan, the first thing you should have thought of was Shaka Smart from Texas to Marquette.

Do they own the old Dr Pepper land that houses the Kroger? That's the next step east.

Hey if ECU could transfer university $$$ and syphon $$$ from students like UH has things might be different for us. It is what it is.

Looks like USC will hire Muss. Worked out pretty well for them, that feels like an upgrade
