Sweet 16/Elite 8 rotation
How often do the S16 & E8 sites rotate? IOW: when will they return to Boston?

RE: Sweet 16/Elite 8 rotation
2022: Philadelphia, Chicago, San Antonio, San Francisco - Great Schmolik year, my hometown, my adopted hometown, and I have family in the Bay Area:)

2023: New York, Louisville, Kansas City, Las Vegas

2024: Boston, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles

2025: Newark, Indianapolis, Atlanta, San Francisco

2026: Washington, Chicago, Houston, San Jose

https://www.ncaa.com/mens-final-four/future-info

Seems like the "East" Regional is always in the Northeast and "West" is often California with Vegas the exception. Texas has hosted the "South" three times.

Florida has only hosted two regionals, Miami in 1994 and Tampa in 1998.

The last time North Carolina hosted a regional was 2008 in Charlotte. Before that was Greensboro in 1998. Guess who won both years? North Carolina. Why doesn't UNC push for the regionals in Charlotte or Greensboro one year instead of the 1st/2nd round? Who needs a home court advantage vs. Wagner?

As for other Western cities: Phoenix last hosted in 2012, Denver last hosted in 1996 (the arena it was hosted in no longer exists!), and Seattle in 1993 (in the Kingdome!)

How about this?
West Regional:
2013: Los Angeles
2014: Anaheim
2015: Los Angeles
2016: Anaheim
2017: San Jose
2018: Los Angeles
2019: Anaheim

(Six of seven years in the LA area!!)

Please read...
https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/champio..._SPECS.pdf

Bids for 2027 and 2028 were due in February and will be announced later this year.

It's not too difficult to find.

Are the regionals always in NBA type normal basketball arenas or do they ever go to the football stadiums they use for the Final Four?

Because they have the hotel rooms needed. NCAA also doesn't want to guarantee room rates upon giving bids too.

I wish the Final Four could be in NBA arenas instead of indoor football stadiums.

They stopped using the next year's Final Four venue as a Regional site years ago.

Bugs me Syracuse is not scheduled to host an East Regional in the near future. I figured with the Dome renovations and the school's media pull they would have gotten one.

We're closing in on 30 years (Meadowlands) since the Northeast has hosted a Final 4. Just make ONE exception for the Dome.....

That ship has sailed. I can’t imagine how bad the viewing is from the Bob Ueker seats.

Next year they will go to Lucas Oil Stadium although these days it is rare.

I was at the Alamodome for the 2018 Final Four. Seats were in the lower corner. You were a mile away at a sharp angle - probably the worst seats you could get.

I went to Lucas Oil for the 2021 pandemic Tournament. Upper deck seats were still a mile away, but at least the angle was good.

If you go to the Final Four and can't get good seats, upper deck is definitely better sightlines than lower deck corner.

I've been to Syracuse for two regionals, 1997 and 2000.

Regardless of seat location, Final Four venues are better since 2019, when they permitted beer sales

I went in 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015. I spent most of my life in the Scranton, Pa area so Syracuse basketball games were an easy 2 hour winter escape up 81 away. 2005 was probably the most memorable because of the Villanova-UNC game. The Florida upset of Duke in 2000 was huge. I never went to the Regional Final, only the Sweet 16 games.

They need to bid for it. Plain and simple while giving the NCAA tax breaks while you're at it.

The 81 rerouting issue could be a major concern when it comes to hosting a national event. If/when the 81 viaduct comes down through downtown Syracuse the results will forever change the city. Time will tell just how....

With that said, then bite the bullet and let MSG host it for ONE year. Make tickets absurdly expensive and be done with it. TV money is FAR more important than ticket revenue anyway...

A Final Four? It’s just not happening outside of an NFL dome going forward.

RE: Sweet 16/Elite 8 rotation
To guess who will get 2027/2028

2026:
1st/2nd: Philadelphia, Buffalo, Greenville, Tampa, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Portland, San Diego
Regionals: Washington, Chicago, Houston, San Jose
Final Four: Indianapolis

2025:
1st/2nd: Providence, Raleigh, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Lexington, Wichita, Denver, Seattle
Regionals: Newark, Indianapolis, Atlanta, San Francisco
Final Four: San Antonio

2024:
1st/2nd: Brooklyn, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Memphis, Omaha, Salt Lake City, Spokane
Regionals: Boston, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles
Final Four: Phoenix

2023:
1st/2nd: Albany, Greensboro, Columbus, Des Moines, Orlando, Birmingham, Denver, Sacramento
Regionals: New York, Louisville, Kansas City, Las Vegas
Final Four: Houston

2022:
1st/2nd: Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Greenville, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Fort Worth, San Diego, Portland
Regionals: Philadelphia, Chicago, San Antonio, San Francisco
Final Four: New Orleans

Hosted in the 2010's but not 2020's:
Minneapolis: 2019 FF
Jacksonville: 2010, 2015, 2019 1st/2nd
Tulsa: 2011, 2017, 2019 1st/2nd
Hartford: 2019 1st/2nd
Columbia SC: 2019 1st/2nd
Nashville: 2012, 2018 1st/2nd
Boise: 2018 1st/2nd
Syracuse: 2010, 2015 Regionals
Austin: 2013 1st/2nd
Dayton (Not Counting First Four): 2013 1st/2nd
Albuquerque: 2012 1st/2nd
Tuscon: 2011 1st/2nd

Surprised it's been so long since Nashville has hosted. I can see Austin bidding with the Moody Center having just opened.

One I'm surprised hasn't gotten it yet is Lincoln since they opened their arena over a decade ago.

Maybe Syracuse will get it again after the Carrier Done/JMA Wireless Dome renovations are complete.
