LISTING OF ALL NIL COLLECTIVES & REVENUE BY SCHOOL
There are 362 NCAA I member schools of which 211 currently have NIL collectives and 151 do not. All 69 members of the “power 5” conferences have supporting collectives while slightly more than half of all other NCAA I schools currently do not.

Average Funding per NIL Collective by Group:
Power 5 Schools $9.8M (66% to Football/24% to Mbb/10% all others)
Group 5 Schools $1.4M (50% to Football/37% to Mbb/13% all others)
FCS D1 Schools $733K (52% to Football/32% to Mbb/16% all others)

Based on 2022 Booster support, the following is our estimate of NIL collective 2023-24 funding per school:

NIL Collectives / Funding Estimate (Top 50)
(Public Universities)

Texas / $ 22M
Ohio State / $20.2M

Thanks for posting. It is an interesting study but unfortunately its methodology of using publicly available support (copied below) is too simplistic. As an example, I know for example that the relative and dollar ranking of Nebraska is far higher.

"Estimated NIL Collective Funding per School:
To arrive at this estimate, we begin with the total NIL Market 2023-24 projection of $ 1.17 billion as presented in the Opensource report: NIL at Two of which $ 817 million is expected to be generated by NIL collectives supporting athletes. . .

How to make an estimated allocation of the $ 817 million to each school? The funding for NIL collectives comes virtually all from boosters and fans, who financially support the school athletic departments via ticket purchases and contributions. So our primary assumption is that school NIL collectives will generate contributions in proportion to the school’s existing base of booster athletic support. For example, we are assuming a school with $ 60 million in annual booster support will likely generate twice the amount of NIL collective support than a school with $30 million in annual booster support.

The resulting percentage used to estimate NIL collective support for NCAA I schools is just over16% of the school’s total athletic booster support – we applied this percentage to make the estimates of NIL Collectives to all schools uniformly:

This isn't knowledge of NIL amounts. This is just estimates by assuming a school's reported donor contributions will be proportionate with NIL contributions.

Yes. Another NIL marketing piece.

A lot of confusion is out there over NIL right now.

I bolded the top tier football programs and italicized the top tier basketball programs. Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Duke, etc. are private schools and not in this listing. All the football powers are in the top 30 and most at the very top. UNC is not on this list.

FTFY

One good year in a row doesn't make Texas a Power again.

RE: LISTING OF ALL NIL COLLECTIVES & REVENUE BY SCHOOL
Cash is important but a small part of a university’s NIL package.

At Louisville our players work with Zach Soskin of Voltage Management beginning to build their brand before they leave high school. That’s all athletes not just football or basketball but every athlete.

My granddaughters for example have the jerseys of their favorite UofL softball players. They’ve been to camps that the players hold in the off season. At football games you’ll see fans with the jerseys of their favorite players.

This explains some of the additional programs:

This is a short video with Zach explaining what his company does to enhance our NIL program.

LISTING OF ALL NIL COLLECTIVES & REVENUE BY SCHOOL
From The NY Times yesterday

Chris Schoemann, executive director of S.M.U.’s Boulevard Collective, which doles out the university’s athlete payments, likens the current marketplace to a game of liar’s poker.
“Everyone wants to seem bigger than they are,” he said.

To that end, Mr. Schoemann is vague on numbers, allowing that a healthy collective — which he says S.M.U.’s is — requires $5 million to $8 million annually for the football and men’s and women’s basketball teams. There are benchmarks that players and their representatives either already know or Mr. Schoemann will tell them if they inquire. A top quarterback in a Power Five conference, for example, averages about $550,000 a year.

How many Mustang football players earn more than six figures?

“More than a handful,” he said.

Does that mean UNC's collective is less than $3.9 million? They could blow that much on basketball alone. Something's not right here.

UNC is over 8.3 milion, must have missed it when making the top 50 ranking.

Maryland and Rutgers are the two (who reported) who standout. If your in the P2 you need to be somewhat supportive if you plan to compete at all. Shame other schools cant get their spots if they are just along for the ride.

Maryland and Rutgers are #52 and #53 (my Huskies are #51 btw). That's not terrible.

I bolded the top tier football programs and italicized the top tier basketball programs. Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Duke, etc. are private schools and not in this listing. All the football powers are in the top 30 and most at the very top. UNC is not on this list.

Does that mean UNC's collective is less than $3.9 million? They could blow that much on basketball alone. Something's not right here.

It appears to be an omission by whomever compiled the list. Per the website data, UNC’s NIL is $8.5M. They’re estimated NIL funding is top 30 amongst public schools and 5th in the ACC (behind Clemson, UVa, FSU and Louisville).

With all the private schools in the ACC, it’s hard to judge how well NIL collectives and donor funding is going. Schools like Duke, Stanford and Notre Dame shouldn’t have problems with money. Miami and SMU have highly visible mega donors. The low estimates for GT and Cal is worrisome, because they could be the canary-in-coal-mines for issues at WF, BC, etc.

I'm surprised UCF isn't listed in the Top 50.

UCF has a Top 25 Recruiting Class for 2025 so far. NIL and Recruiting Rankings go hand in hand.
