Leagues the Cougars are leaving
Horizon men’s tennis includes a lot of OVC teams, so Chicago State leaving won’t affect them. It will still have around 10 members.

Horizon women’s tennis will only have 6 teams left.

Golf in the OVC will be unaffected by Chicagos departure.

Men’s soccer in the OVC will have 7 teams left, but things are likely to shift around with some Southland schools as Rio Grande Valley will be joining. If the Southland schools found a new home with soccer members, OVC soccer would cease.

I was hoping more conferences would be inconvenienced by Chicago States departure. Horizon Legue women’s tennis will be very short, and OVC men’s soccer might be, but hard to tell.

Why would I hope they’d be short members? Well, they all turned down the Cougars for full membership, so it would serve them right to be the ones to be on the short end of things:) Let them scramble for games while the Cougars enjoy full conference slates.

I now see Chicago State Mens and Women’s tennis will continue to play in the Horizon League. That has been added to (or perhaps I missed it?) the Chicago State announcement about moving to the NEC.
