Oh yeah. Woe to be him. He's made $5.7 billion this past week all thanks to the Left.

He's going to make more this week than he has in decades.

Did Trump sale the stock and realize that gain? Until he does he hasn't made any money.

Pretty sure he didnt. He also didnt sail the stock. Whether or not he sells it is another story.

RE: Todays the day!
Well if you can't sell or borrow against the stock for 6 months he certainly hasn't made the money people are claiming. In fact this looks like a meme stock .... where a bunch of people jump in and then just as quickly jump out. I believe truth social lost 40 million, had only about 4 million in revenue, has been rapidly losing users, and is based on the "personality", so to speak, of one person who's 80 years old. We'll see in 6 months where the value of this stock is.... When Trump is able to cash out (unless he gets the board to change the rules..... And of course that would invite the SEC to come in and investigate self-dealing.)

From one billionaire to another, right?

lol you people are such clowns.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if this stock gets pumped by foreign actors with billions to blow ... like the Saudis. A way to siphon huge amounts of money to the candidate of their choice.

RE: Todays the day!
The board's going to have to change the rules to allow trumpy to cash out. He has friendly board members, including Donald Jr, so this is not going to look like an arms length transaction. Does he need an SEC investigation tossed in with all his other legal troubles? But if he doesn't do it (or rather if the board doesn't do it ;-) ) he's not likely to see much of today's gain.

Yeah you don't have the institutional investors buying this stuff because they look at fundamentals. So what's left after the dust settles are the mega true believers, probably some day traders, and maybe some foreign countries that want to see Trump re-elected. And the next question of course is really repeated above. How is Trump going to get this money and stay out of trouble at the same time. The board members are all his buddies. And if you try to dump 60% of the stock to reap your rewards you going to see a bunch of lawsuits from everybody else. I'm sure this dilemma chaps Trump's fat ass.

RE: Todays the day!
I'm a finance professor. I covered IPOs today in class, so I actually did a valuation of DJT for my students (without looking at it first).

According to their audited financials that it filed with the SEC, the company had $3.3 million in revenue in the first 9 months of 2023, and expenses of $13 million.

I'm not sure how that translates to a value of $9 billion (with a b).

In any normal time, you'd be lucky to get $9 million (with an m) for a company with those financials. But right now the market is betting that he'll win the presidency and the firm's revenues will skyrocket. The polling will never look better for him than it is right now, so this is actually some brilliant timing by Trump.

Isn't the Left pushing a "net worth" (wealth) tax on tax billionaires (who show no "income")?
So it he net worth (wealth) it or not?

Disclaimer: I believe that's his paper net worth but none of it is realized; I believe you can only tax the real (realized) monies.

Admit it, he had a lot of help from LaQuinta and Enron ... wait, what's that ... oh, sorry ... Latitia and Engoron.

RE: Todays the day!
Apple trades for $170 a share. Its book value is $35. Is Apple a scam? Would you own the stock?

Seems some people haven’t figured out that the stock market is really just FanDuel on steroids. You have safe bets (value stocks/dividend based portfolios) and you have prop bets that are pure risk (about 30% of all stocks). DJT is definitely in that category, but no more or less than many tech stocks.

BTW, as of today Truth Social is the #9 ranked social media app in the Apple Store, so it’s not like it’s not being downloaded.

it would require a book to respond to such (if in earnest)...

disclaimer: posted AAPL and AMZN were must longs in '19/'20 due to muh branch covidians ... I wouldn't short either (yet)

again, I'm out other than a handful of shorts .... looking for the kill shot by year end...
