Sucks to have all the SBC teams in the same bracket.

It does make some sense to keep travel fairly regional.

It appears we at least have the easier side of the whole bracket.

The opposite side has perennially good programs like Purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Providence, Butler, and Vermont.

Our side has... Minnesota, Boise State, and Montana... and that's mostly it for the perennially good programs (besides ODU and Troy).

There's a great chance we could see an SBC team make it to the Finals.

Be nice for a SBC team to take it all. The good thing is that all the SBC teams are drawing pretty well. Troy had nearly 2200 and ULM had over 2800. Massive rain storms coming through just before game time and a tornado watch kept some folks away in Monroe. If not for the weather, I know ULM would have easily topped 3000. Hopefully, we get another great crowd for USM this Wednesday.

For some reason I'm really entertained by the idea of the rounds getting renamed (maybe to avoid confusion with the top postseason tournament...?). Looking to make the Excellent 8 for a shot at that elusive Fabulous 4 bid!
