Missed three of our first four shots, but we steadied the ship.

Crawford pulled after the first minute.

Almost half their attempts are from the arc, and they are making them.

RE: Fairfield thread
First half has been quick so far. Not a lot of fouls. Looking forward to seeing the stats at the half.

AJ Neal has been SCORING.

They are making 67% of their shots. At some point we have to start playing some defense.

RE: Fairfield thread
They must be playing Cardet and Corbett tight. They have t been doing much. If Neal can carry us till half time and they get going, or Jernigan or Crawford, I like our chances.

Wow, that is crazy high. They probably won’t be able to keep that up. For them to be shooting lights out and for the Cougars to be right in it amazing.

Fairfield almost certainly won’t shoot better in the 2nd, so with some tougher D they may just go into a scoring drought and get frustrated.

Dangerous time. Don’t want to let the lead get much more 4, and don’t want to add on any extra fouls in the last couple minutes of a pretty clean half.

RE: Fairfield thread
One good stat is that we are completely thumping them on the boards. Almost 2 to 1. We only have one players with 2 fouls, so we can afford to be aggressive. (Of course, they only have two fouls total.)

On paper this doesn't look like either team is showing much discipline on defense.

RE: Fairfield thread
Not much bad to say about that half, except gotta improve the defense on Fields. He has almost half their points, especially with 4/8 from 3. The rest of FU’s team are only 1/4.

If the Cougars can defend him and get Cardett and Corbett going, Chicago will win. Also Chicago is 1/7 from 3 and still in it. A few more threes can change the game to and force them to guard out more. Then Cardett can drive.

Nobody had too many fouls. And Chicago actually shot pretty well themselves from 2- over 50%. Out rebounding them 17 to 9, with 7 offensive boards. Cougars are out hustling them I think.

Cardett needs to really get going and get to the line time after time. They won’t have an answer for that. Corbett will clean up his misses too and they will end up with 20 and 15 for the game.

The more they focus on Neal, the more he can dish and pass to Cardett.

That sounds like a formula to me. I figure Fairfield is going to keep jacking up 3s until we start playing them tougher or they go cold.
