Question: Can a player give money to teammates?
Let's say the QB is making bank with NIL $ - could he give a chunk to his offensive line to help entice them not to transfer?

That is a good question. I would think the standard for the QB would be the same as any other person off the street Technically pay for play is wrong, whether it’s the University, a booster, or even a team member.

I’d bet it would be hard to do without it getting out.

That makes sense but I wonder if the QB could offer an NIL deal to other players?

"Here, autograph these footballs for me and I'll pay you"

I would think that would work, but I wouldn’t try it without talking to the compliance dept.

Depends on if they're serious about enforcing the rules.

Rules still say that NIL cannot be used to get player to attend specific school.

Yes, Sam Hartman did it with his Notre Dame team mates, other players have done the same

Yea, the player can give the business their money, and the business can pay the player, and tell them where it came from?

Hang on a second - just because they let Norte Dame do doesn’t mean they would let Memphis…

I'm sure that with the exchange of $ between hands, the IRS will want to get involved to get their share. There are consequences to each action.

Pre-NIL this made Chance McGrady the best teammate ever...ha. Feel like he was a cheat code because he had a well known alternate source of income, aka his bro, so he was the perfect vessel to filter money to the guys. No proof of course just a gut feeling.
