Writing was on the wall. Feel bad for him. Would have definitely gotten some time this year.
Hate that he stayed injured so we never even got to see what he had. My understanding was he was a last minute desperation signing after JJ failed to recruit any quality inside players. Which isn't his fault for accepting the best deal he had. Honestly, Im glad there's now another spot open for HCMJ to fill. Sounds like just the spot for Mr. Matthew Hodge (though Im less hopeful for that as time passes) or a similar player. Best of luck Mr. Hood. Now go get em Coach!
Hood was hurt, we will never know but the staff liked him.
JJ’s staff right?
Yes, but he may never play again

RE: MBB Transfer Portal
It seems like Jeff got too few big guys, and too many of the ones that he did get didn't play due to injuries before the season even started (Hood, Karaiskos), or guys that apparently weren't good enough to play (Shanu, Kah). Hopefully this new coaching staff can do a better job of finding additional big players, and ones that can actually contribute instead of occupying the bench all the time. Our lack of sizeable and serviceable depth at the position led us to playing a 6'-4" guard there at times over the past 2 seasons.

Kah was a huge disappointment. He was supposed to be great, and was a recruiting win.

Im not sure who said Kah was going to be great. He was a decent floor spacing 4 but got into his own troubles.

There was a ton of hype around Kah when he announced he would transfer here. Didn't pan out but folks thought he was going to be a force.

Excitement, yes, absolutely. But, did people think he was going to be an all conference type of player? Maybe Im not remembering clearly.

I went back to search to try and figure it out and you might be correct here. There was excitement, but in more of a 'this guy has a big ceiling' kinda thing. I might've been remembering my own disappointment cause I had high hopes for him lol.

I don't think are posters are gonna hype a kid from Kilgore College. But, we have our favorites, I really liked Joe Reese.

If I recall, Kah had originally signed with WKU and Stansbury (who was known for getting great talent). For some reason that didnt work out, and we got Kah on the rebound (no pun intended). There was excitement about landing him. But all water under the bridge now. Thankfully that era is over.

Reese was a great player. His issues were not due to talent or performance.

Coach Richardson told me when I ran into all the coaches including Jones at the Norfolk airport where they were heading out to recruit Kah in Texas back then that he was better than anyone currently on their team. So there's that for one !

New coach might have a completely new roster--I was at their Senior Day and they had 7 guys for that. Now a new coach.

RE: MBB Transfer Portal
So with Hood gone, we still have Imo, Pounds, Ceasar, Odahai, Blakeney and Allette 2.0. Im going to assume Allette goes. Id like to keep Imo and Pounds, and would be fine with keeping one of Ceasar or Blakeney. Id prefer to upgrade from LeRoy, but I like his attitude and size can be hard to come by. So we may only have 3 or 4 guys returning which Im kind of happy about. Would love to add a great point guard and and Alex Loughton/Gerald Lee type forward.
