Someone explain to me why the SEC deserved as many units than the ACC, or why the Big XII deserved more units?

Because the apparent unit formula is:

<# of teams invited> + <# Tourney Wins> = <# of Units>

I am more concerned about a nagging observation that the BIG 10, Big XII, and SEC always appear to get teams in all regions, but ACC teams are routinely corralled into 3 or less regions. Maybe I am just overthinking what I see when I pay attention to the tournament. Am I justified in my observation?

I agree. They seem to make sure at least one if not two regions are reserved for non-ACC teams... just a theory.

My favorite quote from the AP article ‘Obviously the mistake was made': Big East remains unbeaten in NCAA Tournament after only 3 bids:

By the way the SEC and the B12 play only 18 conference games while the ACC and the Big East play 20. The Pac and the B10 also play 20 conference games.

Clemson plays Alabama in an Elite Eight game? Sounds like it should be a bowl game.

If Clemson ends up in the SEC, I'll definitely miss basketball. The SEC isn't anywhere near the ballpark of the ACC in basketball. Now if UNC, NCSU, and UVa came with Clemson to the SEC, then that would be the best case scenario. I think FSU wants the B1G - seems to be a LOT of acrimony with ESPN from their side.

From a practical standpoint if you, we, UNC, and UVa all go together to the SEC are we really in the SEC at that point or are we really back in the old Southern Conference? At 20 the SEC looks a whole lot like the old 23 school SoCon.

Triangle basketball owns the South this year. ACC keeps putting teams in the Final Four.

Big 12 is a joke. After three rounds, all eight schools are gone. There is no one Big 12 school advancing to Elite 8.
