We are all ODU fans. Comments like this is what the board condemns. If you can’t give something note worthy, then all you quotes, are just to mock people. Two pages of this, tells us nothing about actual data on the monarchs.

Man, sorry if I offended you. I didn't feel like everyone using the monicker that you created was a slight, I just think its funny that it took on a life of its own. I have defended you more than once when I felt like people were being unfair to you, so my intention was certainly not to take a cheap shot.

Being made fun of me, should only go so far. I originally just ask what to call you and it turned into a game. First, it’s off the main subject, so these low level posters have nothing else to talk about. It continues to snowball. Yes when I have made a statement, I either misinterpret what I said or was a honest opinion on my many years of following ODU. I would guess that 96% of ODU fans don’t look at this board or just look at it to see comments. If you say the wrong thing, beware of needless follow-up.

This is exactly why I made the post. It happened so naturally and everyone rolled with it. Hell Monarchist13 even answers to it when other posters are now using it. I think its great and its not making fun of you. Hell if you looked at my original post I said I'd like to be "A55" which was intended for ASS if it went over your head.

I mean i referred to myself as ASS my guy. Its all fun and games in this thread right here.

To avoid conflict, it's important to understand better ways to post messages.

1st, messages should be made in a way that you can defend. This is a lesson that one of the all-time great American CEO's taught me about making decisions on the job, and in life. A defensible message is one that is either factual, or clearly includes words like "in my opinion", IMO, IMHO, likely, possibly, probably, hopefully, I think, seems like, etc. so that it is clear that a fact is not being stated.

2nd, there's nothing wrong with asking questions. It's a safer approach than giving an opinion. Sometimes, it is beneficial to provide an opinion along with a question so that the person answering the question knows exactly how to answer (prove your opinion right or wrong).

3rd, challenging a person's opinion with a different opinion is perfectly fine. That is what happens in debate, and what happens often on message boards. Sure, there are cordial ways to challenge and there are coarse ways to do it. Be prepared for either one because people are as different in their approach as their opinions.
