Indiana State wins to advance to the NIT Final 4 in Indianapolis. Can you say takeover for the NIT Final 4?

Tom Crean in the studio for the NIT Selection Show said the powder blue are going to take over Indy if they advance that far. Half the lower bowl in St. Louis was a sea of powder blue.

Indiana St sold out again tonight against Cincinnati. They announced 6 sellouts this year (Bradley, Drake, UIC, Murray St, Minnesota, Cincinnati). They haven’t released an official capacity for Hulman Center since its renovation a couple years ago, but it looks to be slightly over 8k.

Hulman Center is also opening a Larry Bird Museum in May and Larry’s going to be there for the grand opening. His brother (Eddie Bird) and his family still go to all the Indiana St games 45+ years later.

funny you mention Bird, think I saw that today is the 45 year anniversary of Bird vs Magic.

Georgia won a thriller at Ohio St. Ohio St. had 2 shots at a 3 in the closing seconds to win, but couldn't sink them. UGA 79 Ohio St. 77.

Incredible atmosphere these past 3 games at the Hulman Center for Indiana State during this NIT run. 8k plus willing them the Sycamores to an 85-81 win over Cincinnati last night and advance to Hinkle for the semifinals.

feels like we've seen more games ending like that than the actual buzzer beaters. See that Howard game last Tuesday where they had not one not two but 3 shots to win it at the end.

Congrats to the Spartans

Norfolk State set a program record by winning 15 games at home this season, I wonder why they did not get a CBI Bid?

Seton Hall very impressive at Walsh Gymnasium tonight in their blowout win over UNLV putting 91 points against what is a normally a solid Runnin' Rebels defense.

Seton Hall and Indiana State should have been in the NCAA tournament instead of Virginia, Boise State, or Colorado State.

I’m at Hinkle Fieldhouse for the NIT. Outside of maybe 80 or so Utah fans, the entire stadium is blue and “I-S-U” and “Let’s Go Trees” chants are showering the whole stadium.

Before we get to all the exciting NIT action tonight a big congrats to Seattle U defeating High Point winning the CBI Final last week. Cam Tyson went off for 30 points.

Chris Victor doing a great job just 3 seasons in charge of the Redhawks. I know Washington State have him in consideration for the job in Pullman at the moment.

Don’t think so. He’s retired and lives in Naples, FL. His brother Eddie Bird and his family still goes to all the games, so they’re probably here.

About to tip!

Kind of reminds me of the Harvest Festival episode of Parks & Rec, when getting Larry Bird’s great aunt to sign autographs was considered a BIG deal.
