RE: The basketball portal opens Monday
Noah boyed

I don’t remember that name from last year.

But yeah if we had any shot at him, that would be amazing.

Can’t blame tavarez for picking another school where he could play right away. I was hoping he’d come here and mostly sit for a year, but I understand his decision…

Assuming shaver is ready to play more than spot minutes, we have 4
Bigs for next year, where last year we really only had 3. So that’s an improvement, but I’d still like to get another big - even if they are a project type of player. We were an injury away from disaster last year, and got lucky.

Would be great to get another Butta or Toney aka UAB lifer type guy for our last spot.

We’ll see. I agree, unless we got lucky I can’t realistically see guys coming with the last 2 spots that are going to demand PT… unless AK wants to start playing a 9-10 man rotation regularly.

FAU hired a Baylor assistant so he could be going there or Nebraska since he also visited there. He would be an absolute pipe dream but he would immediately be the starting 5

Boyed took an official visit to UAB in September with McGhee. Irvine had the scoop. Can’t find an active X account but I did on IG. NoahBoyde

Will take some NIL $$$$. Have heard that Kentucky is interested. I'm sure he will have a ton of programs chasing him.

Ahh true Alvin Brooks, Baylor assistant, left for UK a couple days ago. So there probably goes that wish

With the new Southside Solution tweet I wonder if we're in on a player that we need some more NIL to give out or it's just to add on to the players that are already here

I won't pocket watch and how ask what is considered a huge NIL deal but it's nice to finally have the collective tweet out about something other than asking for people's contributions. It seemed like it was pretty quiet account for a long time

I'm just glad we are getting those type of tweets. 2 in less than a week is great.

{soapbox} this is portal/recruit/player related...

Is it me or is the southside solution website terrible?

I've surfed to it a few times. No way it entices me to send any money. It looks like a hack site. Grainy pics, cartoonist fonts and big old cataract blind person buttons.

Like I posted the other day, small/mid/large companies need to participate instead of us lowly individual givers. if I gave $30-100/month, that is child's play compared to a local midsize company coming in and giving 5 or 6 figure money a year.

it would take all the local die hards all signing up and giving gas bill kinda money to even make a dent....i don't think thats happening in this economy...

So is that really the best/number 1 place for fans to donate to NIL if they want to?

I’m still turned off by the website. It has like 2 links and pictures from 3 seasons ago. It screams Nigerian scam website, can someone legit please make them a real website lol

If AK hadn’t vouched for them, I’d be skeptical to donate to them as well lol.

It's so bad lol.

Do you hear anything back from them once you donate, or do you pretty much get ghosted?

If there are any then it's not public. I'm just going to assume there won't be a WOW pickup since we have a really strong group as is

Agree. A big with more than one year left to play would be nice.
