Zach Edey is tremendous. Seems like a fine young man, too. I wish him well in the NBA.
Didn’t help the Pack that O’Connell tripped and was essentially lost for the game. He’s the entire reason they were there considering his 3 vs UVa.
UConn just looks like a sleek sports car, while Purdue seems to be sort of slow, but reliable. Should be interesting or a Husky blowout.
The O'Connell injury was a major blow to State. With him at full speed, the Pack might have had a solid chance. But Purdue is a better team overall.
As to UConn ... impressive. The depth and defense are what caught my attention during the Bama game. The Husky offense, as we know, is elite.
I can't easily foresee Purdue hanging with UConn. A 10-point or more Husky victory looms.
Yeah, being the better team doesn’t always matter in March/April haha
O’Connell was averaging 10 ppg in the tourney and is a legit 3-pt threat. I didn’t lose any sleep over State’s loss, but I hate to see an injury sway the game.
Yep. We Coogs know how NC State is feeling right now, even though we don't like them very much. (Again, 1983 comes to mind.)
I just hope we get another crack at Duke sometime in the future while CKS (that's Coach Kelvin Sampson for those not in the know) is our coach. Before Jamal Shead sprained his ankle, we were actually playing pretty well overall; just needed to make some shots we should've made but didn't. We could've pulled away from them late if Shead hadn't gotten injured. *sigh* Oh, well. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.
Regardless of who wins tomorrow night, they'll have most certainly earned it. We'll just come back next year and try again to finally get over that proverbial hump.
GO COOGS!
That was tough, and I had many other reasons to root for the Coogs in that game, besides you all being down a star!

I would be cheering for Houston to beat UConn had Shead not gotten hurt and the Cougars advanced to the final game (which they very well might have).

I am going to go with 22 million.
Being on Turner, it'll be only about 16-17 million probably. The women are going to outdraw them being on ABC.
A 9:20 start time won't help the ratings either. I know I'll miss watching it. Thank goodness I can get a virtual play by play tomorrow morning by reading this thread.

Nice to see the Top 2 teams play for the title in both men's and women's this year. I know everyone hates that for some reason though.

People say one thing but do another. The ratings for this year’s men’s finals will dwarf last years. That wouldn’t happen if people actually hated the outcome. People love the Cinderella stuff for the opening weekend. After that they want to see the two best teams square off. Thats why March Madness is so special. It usually delivers both.
