Would an upset of Illinois be enough for Ohio St or do they need to go further/win it all for consideration?

I think Seton Hall should be pretty safe, but I think going to Dayton.

Seton Hall has a terrible NET. Why are they a shoe-in?

5 Q1 wins. 4 wins over definite NCAA teams.

Why is their NET so bad?

I didn't realize Texas A&M has a 2-4 Q3 record.

yup. on the seed list that I'm using they were #50.

Does A-10 only get one bid now and cement themselves as a one-bid conference?

yeah but Ohio St very much alive.

But shouldn't be. It's the end of the season coaching change effect. They shouldn't be rewarded for 4 terrible months.

Who makes it further in the tourney Kansas or Duke? Both looking very vulnerable.

Dayton made sure that wouldn't happen and took one for the conference.

So teams that have likely knocked themselves out today: Kansas State, Memphis, Iowa, and Wake Forest, while Miss St, Pitt, and Texas A&M probably punched their ticket, and Ohio State and Providence have kept their hopes alive (Providence may have punched their ticket beating Creighton). Cincy, Villanova, and Virginia are currently battling.

Not all bad. Would like to see UNLV go on a run in the NIT now. Probably the tournament they are most equipped for this season.

Bubble teams top-32 in NET:
23 Michigan St
25 New Mexico
26 Colorado
27 Indiana St

It's been used in 4 tournaments. 2019,21,22,23. Hard to say ever when it's that small of a sample size.

I sure as hell wouldn't feel comfortable if I were New Mexico with a loss today, Colorado with a loss today, or Indiana St.

This Colorado team is very good and not a bubble team. They just ended the regular season with a six-game winning streak, marking the program’s first six-game win streak within conference play since the start of the 1996-97 Big 12 schedule. Their sweep of Oregon and Oregon State was just their fourth road sweep in 13 years in the Pac-12. The Buffs set a program record with their 22nd win of the regular season, and it also is the first time Colorado has won their final six regular season games since the Final Four team of 1954-55.

The 2024 NBA mock draft below has three Colorado players going in the first round of the draft. Their freshman star Cody Williams, who they have as the No. 5 pick in the draft, has missed the last four games with an ankle injury. He is expected back tonight.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1011...omparisons

This is not your typical Colorado basketball team and I think the tournament committee will look at their Net Ranking, how well they are playing going into the post-season tournament, the injuries they have had to overcome, and the talent they have and put them in the tournament, even if they lose tonight against Utah.

They have 1 win against a tourney team. home against Washington St. That's it.

As far as your thing on the talent, that sure as hell didn't help UNC last year now did it? They absolutely need to win tonight to have any shot.

Colorado beat Utah tonight 72-58 for their 7th consecutive win. They are 23-9 on the season with a 26 Net Ranking. They are in the tournament.

UNC went 20-13 last season with Net Ranking of 46. They had zero players drafted into the NBA last season. The NBA mock draft that I referenced below shows only one UNC player being drafted in 2024, that being Harrison Ingram, a transfer from Stanford. Ingram was not on the roster last season. Comparing Colorado to last year's UNC team does not work. This Colorado team has better talent and a better team.

With Dayton losing, they could be a bid thief. Wake might have had a chance if they had won, but I agree Pitt has too many teams to pass to get in unless they knock off Carolina in the semis. But if that happens, NC State could become a bid thief if they upset Virginia and Pitt.

Pitt 40 NET 4 Q1 wins

Seton Hall 65 NET 5 Q1 wins

Pitt > Seton Hall

Yesterday might have been the most impactful and influential day for the bubble and overall field. You have Villanova, Wake, UNLV, Iowa, Cincinnati, Kansas State, and Utah put down for good. St. John's is crawling toward safety alongside Colorado State and Virginia. Michigan State's probably now out of harm's way. New Mexico, Colorado, Providence, A&M, Pitt, Ohio State, and NCSU all get additional chances to make their cases. Some get very big opportunities to not just make the field, but potentially avoid the trip to Dayton.

Part of me feels Indiana State is going to get snubbed because of the A10 now. Just a gut feeling. I think UNM and Providence's wins were probably good enough.

aTm 2-5 vs Q3 is terrible and should cancel out anything they’ve done.

Ohio State needs another win

I think Pitt is in regardless of tonight, they won their play-in game

Indiana State and UNM probably should get in but I could see the NCAA being scared

A 14-loss team getting in with a 2-5 Q3 record is absolutely ridiculous. Their 46 NET isn’t even above the cutline either.

I don’t disagree about A&M, but, we’re also still forced to consider teams like Michigan State and Villanova as “worthy.” Teams who can’t even win 60% of their games are championship-worthy? What am I supposed to be looking at?

(And I know Villanova is now practically out, but, had they won last night and lost today, it’s a harder question, but still a team with a lot of lumps.)

None of them should be considered, but Michigan State is Michigan State and they'll probably get in and not even play in Dayton lol
