RE: 2024 Basketball Coaching Carousel
Please, don't bring up Tony Yates. My five years at UC I had to suffer not only an almost unwatchable football team, but Yates' last five years where all he proved was that he could not game coach as well as over half of Ohio's high school basketball coaches.

I'm with you; it was probably the most disheartening period ever in UC athletic history. Tony was a great Bearcat but should have been relieved of his coaching duties at least a year earlier as everyone knew it wasn't improving.
We've come a long way since then: the '92 Final Four, the '21 CFP, and now Big 12 conference membership. It would have been totally unimaginable during those years.

I still hold a grudge that I skipped out on a study session for a Fluid Dynamics test to attend the game against the University of Missouri-Kansas City (the Fighting Kangaroos) and saw the team lose.
Then I had to pull an all-nighter to try to get ready for the test. It finally started to make some sense around 6 AM.

I have the reverse regret....
11/29/1990 UK came to The Shoe in front of 13,176.
I was sitting in Langsam library studying for an organic chem exam while my father and older brother were at the game.
Lou Banks and Levertis Robinson both went for 19 each, Herb Joes went for 14, and Keith Starks went for 10.
But our Cats went down to slick ricky p and the hillbilly cats 75-71.
I doubt my 2-3 hours of studying during the game changed my exam score much at all.
