Keys To Beating Kent State Again!
Keys to Beating Kent St (Again)!

• Attack their Zone like 2nd Half of Last Friday Night's Game where they consistently moved the ball side to side and inside out for open looks which they obviously need to make.

• Limit our Live Ball Turnovers which leads to easy baskets at the other end which cost us several times in the 1st Half Friday night.

• Give the 6-2 Tyler Cochran some double team help against their Power Forward 6-5 V. Davis who had his way and got Cochran in Foul Trouble on Friday.

• Limit open shots to their two best perimeter shooters (Sullinger & Santiago) which they did an excellent job doing the other night.

• Get contributions again off the bench as they got the other night with 24 points combined.

With both Peyton and (possibly) Bass out of the lineup again, Kent is limited offensively so I think if we can get to 75 plus points, we have an excellent chance of winning. That is if we come to play on the defensive end, which has not always been the case this season!

Overall We have a tough bracket. We have to beat KSU for a third time (hard to do). Then we have 7 footer match up problems between BG and CMU, plus we lost to both this year. The Rockets will have to fight and claw their way to the finals.

While I agree playing Kent St for a third time in Cleveland is not going to be easy, if we get by that game, I like avoiding the other two best teams in the MAC all season (Akron and Ohio) until the Finals. Maybe this will be the year Toledo is the more rested team on Saturday night!

While this is a bucket list thing because I'm old; I would like to remember this - Beat Kent State on Thursday, then BG on Friday, and Akron on Saturday (how fitting) - go dancing. 13-14 seed - so what?

For college basketball fans the next month is the best.

Git r done guys!
