RE: WAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEK #18
Final week of regular season with some serious WAC Vegas shakeups at stake.

Tarleton will get UVU and Seattle’s best shot in the Ville this week, no doubt.

Nobody wants to tangle with ACU and UTA right now.

Will we actually see a WAC Vegas without SFA?

GO CBU! 04-cheers

Cats will have their hands full these next two games for sure, even at home.

So the Texans are up 13 in the first and UVU comes back. Tarleton gets up 13 in the second half and UVU comes back. Final UVU 63 TAR 60.

Extremely disappointing.

What a slugfest...ACU beats Seattle 64-59. A well played game by two talented teams.

Hopefully UVU is wore out... I know that had to have been hard to watch, but I also know it had to have been a slugfest just like ours.

Disappointing loss for the Texans and one I did not expect. I suspect the officiating was difficult to understand because every game in the WAC seems to have inconsistent calls. Regardless, the Texans are playing good basketball. It would be interesting to hear from someone who attended the game.

RE: WAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEK #18
DISAPPOINTING is an understatement. We had a 13-14 point lead twice but played very poorly the last 8 minutes of the game scoring only 2 points in that span. We just blew it and there is no other way to put it. It likely cost us a chance at even a share of the conference championship. Our only hope is for CBU to take down GCU and for us to beat Seattle. I would say the chance of both of those happening are not great. Regardless, a 2nd place finish in the WAC is progress and we should only get better in the future, But it was a heart breaking loss for sure.

The last foul called on Utah Valley was with 9:19 remaining in the game... difficult to understand is an understatement.

Rebounding was an issue for the Texans.

Huge issue.

It also looked like we were tired as most of our shots in the final ten minutes came up short. We have got to do a better job with our bench management.

RE: WAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEK #18
I had a feeling Tarleton would catch an L in at least one of these final home games. The better team did not win last night, but that’s how it goes in the Wacky WAC, man. 10-game win streaks are really hard to accomplish in this league and it showed last night. Our guys looked tired and well-traveled, as they should be at this point in the season. If we can pull it together tomorrow night and take care of business against a flashy Seattle team, we can then rest up with a much needed bye and go full-throttle gangbusters at WAC Vegas. And remarkably, if CBU can pull it off tomorrow at home against GCU, Tarleton still has a shot at WAC Co-Champs! So all is definitely not lost. Actually, I’m kinda glad we got this ugly loss out of the way now rather than Rd. 2 of the tourney. 04-cheers

Be careful of Seattle. They are fast and they shot threes like they were free throws against ACU. Their big man gets a lot of lobs and moves pretty well. But you guys should be favored. We play UVU Saturday afternoon and hope our recent level of play continues.

Texans win over Seattle 69-66. Maybe this solidifies UTA's #3 seeding in Las Vegas tournament.

RE: WAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEK #18
I was worried about today and it ended up being an even bigger slugfest than I imagined. I am disappointed in our defense and lack of rebounding. UVU killed us in 2nd chance points. Even when we got a rare turnover, we struggled to score off of it. I thought we would have learned something Thursday. We played UVU better than last time but have a long way to go when it comes to adjusting to teams when the pressure is on, and the opponent is bigger. Kudos to UVU but hope we learn some lessons going into the Tourney. Are we one and done after our impressive turn around? If so, our over-all record for the season still isn't that impressive. I am glad we salvaged it. We have a long way to go to get back to being a top tier team.

Very disappointing that we could not make free throws. Maybe as bad is our lack of stopping simple drives to the hoop. We could have won this game but UVU is a hard lineup for us to match up against and when the game was on the line, we could not make free throws or stop drives to the basket.

Or rebound effectively...

With SFA's win, the seedings and match-ups are set for WAC Vegas.

1 GCU, double-bye.
2 Tarleton St., double-bye.
3 UTA, single-bye.
4 Seattle, single-bye.
5 Utah Valley.
6 SFA.
7 ACU.
8 CBU.

CBU vs. UVU and SFA vs. ACU on day 1.
UTA gets the SFA/ACU winner and Seattle gets the UVU/CBU winner on day 2.
GCU gets the Seattle/UVU/CBU winner and Tarleton gets the UTA/SFA/ACU winner on day 3.
Winner on day four goes to the NCAA Tournament.

Tough or relieving news out of UTRGV? Sad to see some good transfer outs, that's for sure.

We're both looking at Verbal Commits? Elliot, Abdul-Hakim, Brashear, Jackson, Barganier.

Depends how you look at it. The number leaving is less than some previous years. But the ones leaving plus the two who are (I assume) out of years scored 1599 points out the team total of 2180.
