It’ll be a great hire. I advocated for him last time.

Well was holding out hope for Will Wade but Kelsey looks to be a decent hire .

He’s got a lot of fire. I’ve seen his pre halftime interviews a few times. Sort of Bruce Pearlian

Any time you hire a guy from a lower level like that, you're taking a bit of a risk. That said, Kelsey seems to have the right "metrics".

It's a risk no
matter who you hire. This is definitely not a flashy hire. Does Louisville lack the money? Is it devoting as much money as possible to FB, to the detriment of BB? I hope the NIL money is there for Louisville BB. That's probably more important than the coach.

He is the coach now.. it is up to the fan base to support him and the players .. give him at least 3 years

Seems like a good hire to me. The guy won 58 games the last 2 seasons at Charleston. I would love for SU to have won that many games. Louisville fans would have loved those numbers too.

The Guy stole the Show at His introduction. Gotta great feeling We uncovered a Diamond in the rough. He’s Supercharged to accept this position and with 5 mil of fresh NIL money hopefully the Sky is the limit. The last 3 years have been the most disturbing of the Louisville Basketball era. We are ready to roll again !

This is the introductory press conference for Coach Pat Kelsey. Our AD looks to have stumbled into a very good match for our program. Not bad for a program that hadn’t done a search for a basketball coach since 1971

He seems to be winning over the donors. It was reported that the 502 Collective (NIL) had a record number of new members sign up. He’s passed the first test, let’s keep it rolling. I was a Shertz supporter when it came down to May & PK but PK has won me over. Love how he started working donors & recruits well before the press conference, hit the ground running! Surprised by the 5yr $11.5 million contract, thought his base would be greater than $2.3 a year.

Edit: contract details

His attitude and passion is perfect for this city … I say this and I mean this in a good way … he comes off as someone from Dixie Hwy -( Louisville) .. passionate .. tough as nail and a go getter …. He won me over

Mike Rutherford described him as being a “South End” type guy. So everyone seems to be getting the same vibe. That’s a good thing. That means it’s genuine.
