USF being ranked would put them in, no?

85 NET, 1 Q1 win (@ 72 NET). No one’s ever gotten in with that combo.

They’re in the picture, but that combo making it would be unprecedented.

USF has a better chance of getting in the ACC than the Tournament as an at-large... okay, not really but someone had to say it. 05-stirthepot

RE: Bubble Watch (3/1)
Things can certainly change between now and Selection Sunday but as of the latest Bracket Matrix, the at large team that "made the field" that was chosen on the fewest # of brackets was Wake Forest and they were chosen by 89 of 104 brackets so right now the field looks about as cut and dry as it gets. Of course an upset here and a bid stealer there and everything changes. In the words of Stephen A. Smith, "the list is fluid".

All I can tell you is the ACC tourney is going to be an absolute meat grinder this season. There are about five or six teams that can win it. I think it will have a great effect on at-large bids.

RE: Bubble Watch (3/1)
After losing in Chicago last night, I think Dayton has some work to do. It's not like Loyola is the strongest team out there (though I know they're tough at home). But, Dayton at 5-5 as a road team is not impressive. 8-6 combined Q1/2 is also a smokescreen...the best wins for Dayton are still St. John's and Cincinnati, both of whom are fading further from the bubble picture. 0-2 against the A10 teams ahead of them, and presently 0-1 against the team behind them in VCU...no thanks.

In the other thread (stever's), I'm also not too confident in Colorado State. But, honestly, even though they also stink away from home (worse than Dayton), at home, they win the games. There's the Creighton win (which just ages like fine wine). And then beating Colorado (stronger bubble candidate than Cincy or the Johnnies). Toss in a very complex/troubled Gonzaga, frustrating FAU, and potentially fast-rising teams like Ohio State and UNLV...Dayton looks like the weakest link by a long country mile.

Got it. James Madison a 1-seed. Heard it here first.

One metric tool is harmless if it’s part of toolkit of numerous measures. The problem with NET, as was RPI before it, is when a metric carries more weight or favor over others. Overall record gets countered by SOS, road/neutral gets countered by quality of the opponent. Checks and balances are the ideal. These “all-inclusive” measures, though…bleh.

No one would play anyone non conference. It would be like that other sport. I'd rather see the top schools playing top non conference competition and be rewarded for doing so.

You have to admit college sports would be wildly entertaining if DavidSt was running things.

Against UConn, Purdue, and Houston, sadly, they've dropped to the 2-line.

He's already not-so-secretly running the B1G, it's only a matter of time before he controls everything.
