RE: Northwestern Football Still Looking for Home Game Stadiums
I can’t tell if blaming Frazier for Northwestern playing games on campus rather than dekalb (???) is a bit or not and that’s scary

Wait, what?
FIRE STF!!!!
Look at the bright side. We will no longer have the lowest attendance in the country. No way Martin Field sits more than what we will average.
STF for the win.

For me: bit sarcasm.
For some: their belief, obsession.
While cool, It is a rather odd setup when you look at an aerial. I mean right on the lake. Has to be fun to watch your #1 ranked field hockey team on a crisp fall day. They can't do much to the east with trees , a path and the lake. I can see a drunk fan or 2 falling in the lake lol.
But I would welcome the oppurunity to catch a nice fall salmon.

Northwestern Football Still Looking for Home Game Stadiums
If STF did not even offer the use of Huskie Stadium, then that’s a possibility of lost revenue. If he at least offered, that’s all he could do. There would most likely be schedule conflicts unless Northwestern moved some games to weeknights. Plus, it’s not like DeKalb is close to their fan base.

Apologies to whoever is offended here, but I can't pass this up: With Freeman/STF in charge, NIU is not even close to its own fan base.
A link posted on the " NIU $500 Million Fund Raise Campaign" thread has a campaign official citing 256,000 alumni nationwide. STF has cited NIU as having 160,000 Chicago-area alumni.
Yet NIU can't draw a steady 15,000 to home games of its own. They're always looking for revenue opportunities (a thousand bucks to park on the West Lawn!?) How about some "fan opportunities?" They can start with ample water and hot dogs (this is NOT a joke).

What you have said is correct and this is why the fan and donor base has been eroded. No improvements to Huskie Stadium, lack of amenities, concessions are poor and run out, lack of Huskies gear, etc. There is very little to attract fans and keep them coming back. With the Athletics Department, it’s gimme, gimme, gimme, and then gimme some more - with little given back in return.
A couple years ago, I gave my tickets to some friends. They were upset that concessions they wanted were sold out (at the beginning of the game) and there was very little gear to buy. They said they felt like they were at a Division III game.
This is all so sad and not how you build and keep a fan base. And yet, they raise prices dramatically.

RE: Northwestern Football Still Looking for Home Game Stadiums
Thinking dekalb / huskie stadium was in ANY interest to serve NUs goals was as delusional as thinking NIU could provide value to big 12 because of "chicago market", or that the FBS division somehow continues to serve NIUs interest in the transfer portal/playoff era.
My personal bragging point... i was on the design team that was involved in the renovation of the NU field hockey/soccer lacrosse/lakefront football field as well as the construction NU football practice facility. Beautiful facilities, and no doubt NU will do a great job of converting that area into a temporary football "stadium"
