Congratulations to UMass
Congratulations to UMass for finding a conference home for your football program. This move is the exact opposite of UConn, which made conference move that sacrificed its football program for basketball glory. UMass searched out stability for both sports.

I just hope you continue to play URI OOC in all sports.

Thanks! I hope we continue to play URI as well. They're a good local rival.

RE: Congratulations to UMass
I followed Steve1981's efforts to arm-twist the UMass powers-that-be into the MAC for a couple of years, being supportive where I could (with comments), and admit a little disappointment when he (and others) said, oh, well, CUSA if not to get football into a conference. Glad you didn't settle.

Needless to say ... but I will anyway ... it's great to have the Minutemen (and Minutewomen) to compete with all of us. Some might say that doesn't help home attendance, but MAC fans are not en masse great travelers anyway. No big deal. That's what the MAC-ESPN deal is for. As for team travel, like it or not it's now the norm, and we're coming half the time you're not going.

So to Steve1981, e-parade, et al, we'll see you when we see you. In conference. Best!

BTW ... a question ... UMass has campuses all over Mass ... do they all have their own sports teams or is Amherst kinda the flagship for sports fans? Thanks.

Just watched UMass destroy GW @ GW. Keep that up and your MBB program will easily be in the upper half of the MAC; who knows, maybe the 1-2-3 spot. But that's two seasons hence. Anyway great game. Enjoyed every minute.

(BTW, NIU just shocked Toledo @ Toledo 75-72, and this season Huskies MBB really s...ks.)

Pumped to be back in the MAC!

Four UMass campuses sponsor athletics, and each have their own athletic departments.

-Amherst is the flagship campus and is home of the teams you'd know as UMass.
-Lowell has a D1 athletic department and plays as the UMass Lowell River Hawks. Amherst and Lowell are conference mates in hockey, and occasionally meet non-conference in other sports.
-Boston has the Beacons who play at the D3 level.
-Dartmouth is also D3, playing as the Corsairs, and share conference affiliations with the Boston campus.

Welcome back to the MAC, "all"{+} in this time!

I'm hoping UMass will be slotted into the Kent State, Akron & Buffalo group for football scheduling.
