Biggest coaching blunders since 1992
1) Geoff Collins (GT) - It was going to take a few transition years from a 3O offense to more of a pro-style, but under Collins, GT did not look like a competent team, getting blown out in all of those years by their rivals and many times scoring 0 points.

2) Randy Edsall (UMd) - Not only did they blunder this hire, but fired a guy (Ralph Friedgen) that had them win the ACC in his first year and be competitive in the years after. Edsall came from UConn and thought he could improve on what Friedgen built, his style did not mesh.

3) Randy Shannon (UM) - Hired at the same time as the other Randy, UM could have had Mike Leach. Yes, the U could have been back for the last 15 years, but the prez did not want to win, she just wanted to play academic paddy-cake.

4) Willie Taggart (FSU) - Hard to fault FSU with this hire as he looked good on paper leading USF to 10 wins, then improving on Oregon's record from the season before. It was fools gold, his style did not work here. Fortunately FSU saw the writing on the wall and acted decisively.

5) Frank Spaziano (BC) - Not only this hire, but the firing of his predecessor Jeff Jagodzinski still haunts BC to this day. BC has been stuck in mediocrity ever since.

Plenty of meat left on this bone, share yours.

Greg Robinson (Syracuse) - was a HUGE coaching blunder. Hopefully we are finally pulling ourselves out of that one and a few since.

I'd say for UVA, Mike London was one. We might have two if Tony Elliott has another awful year this upcoming season.

Bob Davie

Ty Willingham

Charlie Weis

A trifecta of hires at ND whose "reign" lasted from 1997 until 2010.
