Good win.

Not a whole lot to pick apart. I thought we maintained our defensive intensity all game. Nobody got rattled. Wilson was a game changer and Cochran delivered late. The refs blow on 4 out of 5 calls on Simmons. Let them play.

Very similar to first game in Akron, just flip the teams. Hopefully Saturday night in Cleveland is the rubber match.

If both teams make it to the finals, it will essentially be a home game for Akron.

Not if our women are there. Akron still only had 3100 for our first meeting. Our base is larger, just has to travel farther. Kent is the real juggernaut in that building.

I know this is getting ahead of ourselves, but if both teams win our, who wins the tiebreaker, theoretically the CMU loss is better than the Miami loss that Akron had right?

They made that game tougher than it should have been. Freeman got away from them in the second half. He is a rebounding machine. They won because they bullied the bully. I wonder what the over/under was on technicals - giggle. Could probably have been more.

Looking forward to comments from those who were there.

I don't think it matters. Every game in Cleveland is going to be like this. All will be tough. They could go out game one.

Akron has the tiebreaker as we lost to cmu who is in 3rd and they beat them.

Something I thought about after the game; Simmons got his third foul and went straight to the bench. They later took the foul away from him and gave it to Moss. It was the first on Moss IIRC. Simmons immediately came back in. That's kind of wild when you think about it. I wonder how many minutes that was? He got the 3rd not more than a few trips up and down the floor as it turned out.

They need to get better at free throws and quit forcing shots when nothing is there. Late in the game Wilson tossed up a prayer (which went in) and was lucky enough to get a foul as well. Akron plays good defense, best in the league point wise if I heard the pregame right. They won't be easy to beat again. Our bench was good. Guys on the postgame radio thought so too.

This was a good win. Friday, BG, national TV via ESPNU. Can't wait.

Was at the game. It was very physical all game as you noticed on TV. Best full game defense by the rockets IMO. Wilson and Simmons have really progressed from early in the year. Felt like a playoff game with the intensity. Nice to see some quality minutes from the bench. Even Wight helped. He needs to give us 3 or4 minutes a half when we play against teams with bigs like Akron to give Simmons a break and keep him out of foul trouble. Go Rockets!
