17 Kentucky 74
LSU 75

FINAL

Angel Reese and other students storm the court after LSU throws a pass from the baseline (not from out of bounds) to another player who hit a shot at the buzzer to win:

I don't see the P6 in basketball get multiple bids in the tournament. MVC could get 2, A10 could get 3, MWC could get 6.

Dude, no offense, but do you even think long and hard before you post? You don't think P6 conferences will get multiple bids when they do (except the Pac-12 one year) every single year and are projected to get no less than 3 per league by ALL bracketogists?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant to type something else. Again, no offense, especially if you meant to type something else.

Dang, someone beat me to it this year. I usually am able to find a path to where I can say the worst team in D-I is better than [one of] the best teams in the country or the team currently at the top of the polls. In 2009 I believe, I found a path for 1-win New Jersey Tech (NJIT) to look better than then number 1 Pitt and it was a major hit on the old ESPN Sportsnation college basketball board, parodied numerous times I even had an alternate transitive path where I "proved" they were better than North Carolina, who went on to win it all.

So oh well to this year, I can still have the chance to prove Detroit is better than the national champion after the title game.05-stirthepot

Women

4 Iowa 69
14 Indiana 86

Clark has an off night (for her) with "only" 24 as Iowa is routed at Indiana. She had her worst scoring half of the season with just 4 points on 2/13 shooting (both season lows).

#17 Kentucky 117 #13 Alabama 95.
Alabama took the lead 29-28 with 9:39 left in the first half. Over the next 23 minutes, Kentucky outscored them 76-38. With about 8 minutes left at 104-67, UK took their foot off the gas.

UK only has 3 non-freshmen who have scored this season (although a few may have scored late today), the #1 scorer, a senior and the #6 and #9, both sophomores. They are very up and down like a young team usually is.

Kentucky is dangerous and really concerns me as a potential Sweet 16 or Elite 8 matchup. Until recently, I thought they had a better shot at winning it all compared to us.

Wazzu has a letdown losing at Arizona State. ASU is currently NET #136 which is right on the cutoff for Q3. NET 76-135 away is Q2. I'd assume beating WSU would move the Sun Devils up at least one making the loss a Q2 instead of a Q3.

Kentucky can beat anyone, but they don't have the consistency to win it all.

Last year UConn won it as a #4 seed. The way this season is going with all the upsets it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a #4 seed or lower to win it all again this year. Of course the problem is the last three times a seed lower than #2 won a national championship it was won by UConn all three times and I can't imagine Connecticut won't be at least a #2 seed.

You have to go all the way back to 2006 when Florida "came out of nowhere" to win the national championship. In fact, if you throw out UConn, the only #2 to win it all since 2006 Florida was 2016 Villanova. Sure, no one thinks UK will win the national championship but did anyone think 2014 or 2023 UConn would win before the tournament started? Is this year's Kentucky team any worse than the 2014 team that made the title game? In 2022, North Carolina made the title game as a #8.

Its just not likely with their inexperience. 2014 was odd. UConn lost to Louisville 3 times and was 3rd behind them in the AAC. Kentucky lost to Florida 3 times and was 2nd behind them in the SEC. But UConn matched up well with Florida and beat them in the regular season and again in the NCAA. UK matched up well with Louisville and beat them in the regular season and again in the NCAA.
