Every sport is hockey now
If third world Latin countries can "afford" to be great in baseball, dammit we can figure it out here too. I don't really need to watch 1-tool players named Chad dominate baseball anymore.
Are you unfamiliar with Latin America baseball academies and MLB drafting/signing rules of international players? Baseball is not a children's game in many communities. People like Raul Mondesi did not attend school as we would recognize it AND they had a restrictive contract by age 16.

Thought provoking post to be sure.
Your assertion that baseball is costly has been 100% proven when Wetherbee chose to establish an all-new women's lacrosse team, build a new field and dump softball instead.
I'm going to chew on the idea of the decline of middle-class jobs. Right or wrong, I appreciate the postulation, it gets me thinking.

Pitching is a big problem. Huge.

RE: Baseball season
Another loss to the worst team in the MAC at home! Wasn't even close. Cold and windy and we still lost. Maybe we need it to rain as well. We played great against the good teams in MAC. When it was cold, windy and raining. Dam if we get swept at home I'm really not going to be happy.

RE: Baseball season
Dear Friends,
Without going to Eastern's Athletic website, can we have a bit more reporting on the baseball team? To
whom did we lose the game or series? What is our record in the MAC? What was the score of the game? I come here to see those outcomes, but rarely find that information. You may call me lazy for not going to other sites for information, but like I already said, this site is where I hope to find the information.

Akron just hit a 4 banger we are now 4-12 top of the 8th. We are 1 for 6 against the 2 worst teams in the MAC.

Dear Superfan,
Thanks for the discouraging news. How did we ever win the series with Central and Western?

I felt they started the season out pretty decently. Not holding up, huh?

It was cold, wet and windy. Is my guess. After the losses to Ohio I thought we had a chance pulling it out and take all 3. This going 0-3 pretty much takes us out the running for the tournament. We hit the road for 7 straight away games against good teams.

I did as well. Most of those were do to our great hitters. Our bats went cold as the weather got warmer and drier.

No, but I see green chutes with the new coach. The program was in horrible shape.
6-4 against WMU and CMU. 1-1 vs Michigan. Baby steps.

Reminds me of Genyk-Ball. Best defense is a good offense. Won't win a TON of games but will be fun anyways.

Lost 12-10 to Miami. Another high scoring game. The EMU team can put up runs but the pitching is horrendous. The team ERA is 8.26! Britt needs to recruit a bunch of D1 pitchers.
