My lone gripe with CBSSN is that casual fans don't watch it.

Don't tell that to the CUSA commissioner. She thinks otherwise.

She is wrong and has been for a long time. I doubt the AAC sees dividends over valuing markets either. Maybe they luck out and UTSA is able to recreate a fraction of UCF's football success. I won't hold my breath.

She can't be "wrong." She decides who gets in.

No she doesn’t. She will suggest and twist arms the best she can but the CUSA presidents give thumbs up or down.

Well you have a conference commissioner for a reason. They are all after the same thing. The presidents have already done the work. This is a done deal.

Don't sleep on Missouri State...

If we are going to add, I hope that it is in this direction. Nothing against UMASS... Other than them being the Bottom Ten's perennial preseason number one pick, not making the basketball tournament in the last ten years, and not making the baseball tournament since the mid-1990's, other than that they are a solid add that will strengthen CUSA's brand.

Well, I’ll be in the Springfield, Ozark, Rolla area of Missouri next week. So I’ll stop in at Missouri St. and make sure they have all their paperwork in order and ask if there are any hangups on the CUSA entrance.

We often refer to the place as Fort Knox, because it’s nearly impossible to get information and they guards secrets with their lives over there.

That thread was started by Ewglenn (a frequent MT poster).

He deserves a "tip of the hat" for being first on this story.

Thanks for the tip of the hat. I’ve been looking into it and it seems the pecking order is UMASS, Missouri St, then Tarleton. I have a feeling we’re going to 14 eventually. I haven’t been told anything explicit outside of those 3 but my gut says EKU is on deck if UMASS says no and we go to 14. I also would stand by my source that Tarleton is a “when, not if, add”. I feel pretty confident that one will also happen eventually even though I’m fully against it. I think this move is to put pressure on UMASS to piss or get off the pot. I have been a vocal supporter of Missouri St and I think they are the best fit for CUSA that’s left.

If UMass is coming, you could get Missouri State before Tarleton but you will definitely get Tarleton.

If UMass joins, they could stop at 12.

If Tarleton joins, expansion may stop if UMass is not coming.

It will be unknow whether UMass is coming or not if it is not the first move unless you start getting rumors out of UMass. It is late to not be getting rumors from UMass at this point for something happening this year.

Lots of possibilities. The MAC is at 13 now so do they add one more? WKU really wanted in not too long ago. Missouri St might be interested. Delaware could flip.

Does CUSA add one or wait to see if Delaware is still all in and if WKU starts talking to the MAC?

Inutech might be truly happy if we get back to 10 and stay there.

This BIG MOVE by the MAC and UMASS today will "Force" the hand of other folks.

Some Dominoes could be shifting.

WKU and Missouri St. must act or make public statements of some kind. Same for Delaware.

Plain and simple--something more now has to happen!!

Exactly right. Both conferences sitting on an odd number. That won't last long.

The hand being forced here is CUSA. They have to expand to get more stable or sit tight.

The Athletic was FIRST to break this story. Even given props by ESPN's Pete Thamel (who always is used to being first).

IMHO--this gives MORE credence to their mention of the Bears as a CUSA option.

Travel costs for Mo. St. in the MAC are even worse than CUSA.

Missouri State now waiting for an official invite from CUSA.

Momentum for CUSA in Springfield.

RE: Missouri State to CUSA discussion
Missouri State and the MAC are pretty obviously not a match. Not a match for anyone which is why nobody wants them. At this point, I think you have to have Tarleton and Missouri State if WKU leaves. I would expect them both to be added. Just a question of which goes first. But would not be too surprised to see them go with someone else.
