Very likely that Cuonzo Martin will be the new coach at Missouri State. He is making a Return. Also coached the BEARS from 2008-2011. And head coach at Tenn., CAL, and Mizzou. Been out of the profession for two years.

Ahead of the curve as usual TOPSTRAIGHT. Thanks for the info. CBS Sports reporting that Martin is the new Missouri State coach. What do you Missouri State fans think of the hire.

I hope it works out as well as Richie McKay’s second go around with Liberty.

Cuonzo is a good friend of Liberty’s head coach Richie McKay and while at Missouri scheduled a home and away series with Liberty. LU won the home match 66-45 marking the first time an SEC school was willing to play on Liberty’s home court. [/i]

RE: Missouri State to CUSA discussion
Seems like CUSA is trying to determine if they would lose a team, whether WKU or Delaware, who can switch with little penalty before July 1st. Delaware is not a continuous state for the MAC. They also are not a basketball notable team. But they are within an hour of Temple, which was covenanted by the MAC. They have very good academics, broad athletic department and a good FCS team. Would have an established football rivalry with UMass. Geographically in line with many of the MAC southern Ohio teams. 05-stirthepot

Nah, I think they are just waiting on the conference summer meetings originally thought to be in April, but now thinking they are in May.

Don’t think anyone in the conference is leaving.

RE: Missouri State to CUSA discussion
Based purely off what I've read online, both from reputable sources and fan boards such as this, along with my own gut feeling:

I'm 99.97% positive no one is leaving CUSA.

I'm 85% positive someone will be added before July 1.

I'm 99.999% positive we'll stop at 12, unless there's some major change in NCAA and CFP distributions.

And I'm maybe 75% sure the 12th team will be Mo State. Maybe. OK, let's call it 60%.

I prefer 11 to the options we have for getting to 12, but 11 is never anyone's goal. If you have 10 and an 11th you like is available - sure (same with MAC and 13). But they're not sitting around debating Missouri State just in case they lose one or the other of Delaware or WKU so they can stay at 11. They're considering 12.

I've yet to see anything close to a case for it being worth it, but that was true of 10 and 11. So my assumption is that they'll probably go to 12. And probably sooner rather than later (Murphy's Law is in effect here).

We're all so rich that we just can't wait to split our limited money even farther.

Silver lining will be their baseball program.

Delaware has the same issue as UMass with fit and more than a half dozen sports that are not offered in CUSA. Early on did ask Delaware posters about those sports. Their answer was not going to worry about them for now. Perhaps we can move them to the A10 with UMass. Well, we applied for 2 sports to be an affiliate with the A10. The A10 will vote in May on the application.

Has anyone heard of Delaware's teams final home for all those sports? I'd particular watch men's soccer as that is the sport that could come back to the MAC.

Missouri State add will be in May.

Delaware not going anywhere.

Some wishful thinking from our UMASS poster.

Whatever happens or not. Was responding to a process post by May, on the MAC board.

It's interesting that now saying Missouri St is May. Hmm

Since it seems that most WKU folks do not want anything to do with MAC inclusion, well OK then !!
I am also OK with the MAC passing on Delaware since they are a bit out of our footprint !!
We could stay at 13 and wait for hopefully that an Illinois State or Northern Iowa would step up in a few years to go FBS …
Makes more sense all the way around - (geography & culture)…

RE: Missouri State to CUSA discussion
Dont see any advantage for Delaware to consider the MAC nor WKU. UMASS is different with the geography probably a little more of an outlier in CUSA. Sure the conversations between UMASS and CUSA were being a football only. When CUSA maintained the all sports for membership critieria the MAC all sports being to look better.
