Seriously, I get stoked to see Toledo and Ohio on an ASU schedule.

Toledo fans are 100% welcome to my tailgate.

Likewise when you venture north to the Glass Bowl !! 04-cheers
Appy State seems to set the standard in the Belt like Toledo always being at, or near the top in the MAC !!

03-lmfao

Only thing funnier is Ohio’s futile attempt to garner a win in basketball against the Rockets in recent years !!03-nutkick

But we did get a win over you in the MAC tournament in 2021 which kept you YET AGAIN out of the NCAA tournament! 03-lmfao

I'm just gonna assume this thread also includes the women's challenge.

MAC women went 5-6.

Miami's women's teams did not get a fair matchup in either game. Early in the year we played at Louisiana Monroe who was 15-8 coming into today. Today we hosted Georgia State who was 14-8 ( 8-4). We came into today 5-16. I take great pleasure in the fact that we won by 17 today despite the unreasonable matchup. I think our best game of the season.

Embarrassing performance by the MAC. They got worked by the Sun Belt tonight and it's not like the Sun Belt is having a strong year.

Whoever drew WMU was getting a freebie W today.

Our program is so bad, been that way for 6 years now.

Ohio got poor luck and got the good shooting version of Arkansas State that can beat anyone. Our poor shooting version is the reason we are under .500.

RE: MAC-SBC Challenge (Round 2)
It’s been apparent all season that there isn’t relative quality top to bottom. I have been trying to think when the last time this year’s teams would be better than a previous MAC season if matched up like this Sun Belt Challenge. 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2 etc. Certainly not in this century and 90’s MAC basketball was pretty strong as well. I think from 1 to 12 this is a historically bad season. Let’s just hope it’s an anomaly, although I have a sneaky feeling that it’s more likely a trend, given the portal, NIL, etc.

The Sun Belt being favored in every game didn't mean anyone expected a clean sweep. You can bet that there will be at least one upset without knowing which one it will be. I think any reasonable person would have bet even money against a Sun Belt sweep.

Pretty depressing how the MAC keeps slipping but again according to most Steinbrecher is the man and all is well. Hopefully this is a wake up call. We need money period. Get aggressive find the best media deal possible, think outside the box, and let's start to improve this conference.

All mid-majors struggle with the portal and NIL. I feel the issue is more and more MAC schools are underfunding their basketball teams in order to spend money on football or hockey. In college sports a coach isn't just the X and O's guy, he's also the GM. Quality coaches lead to quality programs. I just don't see MAC programs going out and spending to get high caliber coaches.

MAC-SBC Challenge (Round 2)
I was at the Toledo-App game yesterday. Refs made some bad calls in the last 4 minutes of the second half. At least one blown out of bounds possession call for both teams plus the no-call on the Toledo back court but I don’t believe any of those plays resulted in points.

People always blame refs but games come down to rebounding and making or missing contested shots.

There were two Toledo fans a row away from me yelling on defense and during free throws. Glad they were there to give us hell. Glad this App-Toledo series continues to pay dividends. Cheers Rockets. Good game.

Also…Wednesday/Thursday, Saturday has been the SBC’s scheduling model all season. All teams knew it - it’s not a competitive advantage as far as travel goes and few SB teams have great home attendance (averaging more than 2-4,000) so that’s not much of an advantage either.

+1. Steinbrecher HAS to go. We desperately need new blood and energy at the top. How in the world has the Sun Belt surpassed us in both football and basketball by this much? What are we doing here?

I don’t think this was mentioned anywhere, but the featured women’s game of the Challenge is James Madison at Ball State today at 2:00 on CBSSN.
