Dre kept us in the game, thought subbing him in for Javan was just simply the wrong decision. Javan just a far better rebounder.

Big moment rebound up 3 and he literally turned around and didn't know how to rebound on the block. Lucky it wasn't an and 1. He's fine for the first 18 minutes a half, but he gets lost in crunch time. He got beat for about 10 buckets today. He rebounded better than the bench and played hard. But if the starting 5 are playing hard they're way way more effective than Dre. They did not appear to play hard today for most of the game.

Right, we agree, he shouldn’t have been in then. But an Andre game where he scores 13 on 0 threes, is going way above and beyond of what we’ve come to expect from him, and considering we gave up 87 tonight, there wasn’t a whole lot of guys who didn’t give up buckets, thus him being a net positive for us tonight.
I'd like to see the plus minus... I doubt anyone was positive but those in during the 3 to 1 minute left stretch we went on a 13-2 run.
Andre was+10, per Rowland’s article this morning.

I totally agree. It's pointless and opens the teams up to possible injuries for nothing. I think one game a year in this challenge is enough. The other challenges around the country only play one game a year.

Different player when looking to take it to the bucket and score.

Great game to watch if you want to give yourself a stress test.

I'll take any win we can get on the road !!!!! Happy for the W.

Next 2 conference games are at home. UT must get the W's when at home. We play a VERY good App state team on road this weekend. They are tough.

Go Rockets!!!!

Injuries and travel are definitely a big concern for me.

Was talking to a buddy this morning, and at this point in the season, all I’m interested in are league games. Non conf has come and gone.

Only positive is 10/12 MAC teams don’t play next Tuesday, so there is a bit of a break built in.

I am also not a fan of mid conference time OOC games. It's a manufactured event to draw some eyeballs mid season for ESPN. Does UT make some extra $$. Not sure how this works to UT's advantage.

not really an ESPN thing as they only televise 1 game (ESPN+ doesn't count-nobody makes money on that). personally, I like it. I remember as a small kid when UT (TU) would host a non Conf game or two every Jan/Feb at the field house or centennial. Marquette, Butler, S Carolina, Depaul...and it was a cool way to see someone new on the schedule. Obviously, the travel is the big thing, and Boone is not an easy place to get to, but having 6 days off after is good. Kind of like a bye week. With the MAC down this yr there's not much to gain in terms of postseason hopes, but a tough opponent in a new environment challenges you and will be great preparation for the tournament should we break the curse and play well in Cleveland.

Being a few rows from the court, it was nice to see this team in action up close !!
A gritty win and comeback, over IMO, a pretty good EMU team !!
Refs let the teams play for the most part… A lot of uncalled traveling on both ends !!
Tyler C. looked hampered by a leg/thigh injury !!
Your comment about Tyler Cochran looking hurt made me laugh. Not that I want to see anyone hurt on either team, but Cochran reminds me of the old Cleveland Brown's Hall of Fame Running Back Jim Brown who always looked hurt limping back to huddle. But on the very next play, he suddenly "heals up" and breaks a 50-yard run. Cochran plays the same way. He looks hurt all the time but I think it part of his "gamesmanship" that he brings to the court every game and I love it!

Love that description! It seems like every game, he goes to the bench for more tape or for Brian Jones to rub some of that "secret sauce" on him! This is not a criticism of him, he plays a very physical game, and with Moss are the "heart and soul" of the team!

Not to be confused with the E Street Shuffle !!

Good input as usual. I sure do remember those Field house games. I was looking at our schedule in media guide as a result of your post and you are spot-on. I vaguely remember those game as I know I was there with my Dad. We had some really big names come to the old Field House to be sure. Sad we cannot get it to happen now.

Okay - you sold me on this insertion. I like it as long as we play well and stay the course.

Cochran got me fool as well on the home game I attended against BGSU. I did think he did get cramps going back to the bench on one episode. Plus the fact, he was on the floor by the bench stretching out his hammies. That game, BGSU's Rashaun Agee did get hurt in the first half early and did not play for the rest of the half. In the 2nd half, he look fine, but they weren't pushing the ball inside to him any longer.

This is just a random comment so I chose to stick it here....

Was perusing AY Ziggy this morning and reading comments about BG's win over UB and how far and fast the UB basketball program has fallen and how poorly coached the UB team is compared to the days of Hurley & Oats. There are reminders all around us how this can happen. We've seen it here and other places. In the current climate of college sports, turnarounds in either direction, can happen seemingly at the speed of light. Need to protect what we have and have an eye on the future.

If you make a mistake with a coaching hiring as Buffalo did with Jim Whitsell, things can go south in a hurry. While I am as frustrated as anyone about our not making the Dance for over 40 years, getting rid of TK is no guarantee that the next coach will get us to the promised land. I kind of like what we got going at Toledo right now with these 20 win seasons. Hopefully this coaching staff finally figures out a formula for success in Cleveland!
