New first year dorm.

Kind of sad to see it go. I lived in Fox my first two years at WMU, 70-72.

Good news. Should help the school recruit. Most of us love the valleys and probably spent time there, but they are outdated.

My sophomore year was spent in Stinson in the late 90s. I made many friends on that floor, but I'm happy to see it replaced. Tear down the jailcell dorms! lol

I'm sure students who attended WMU mid-20th Century never thought they'd see the day when East Hall was torn down either.

I was in Valley I, and yeah we had a lot of good times there. But they're a dump. Prison-chic. I'm glad they're finally doing something about the Valleys and other buildings that were super outdated and falling apart, like the Goldsworth apartments (torn down), Elmwood apartments (torn down), Dunbar (being renovated), Bernhard center (replaced by new student center and will soon be torn down), and much more. They're finally bringing campus into the 21st century. I just wish they'd remove a lot of the empty surface parking lots and redevelop that land or create more green space/general purpose space. So much wasted space right now with giant, ugly, crumbling parking lots.

Lost my virginity there, but like others have said it's time for them to go.
