Yup. Nebraska is no longer an AAU school.

So the ACC will have 17 schools (plus the Notre Dame agreement) when they add the three newbies. If only four go to the Big ten and sec then you got to figure a few also go to the big 12. 4 to 6. That leaves 7 to 9 schools which is plenty to build a new conference with. So I suspect they'll stick around in some form or fashion.

In the next decade there will be a consolidation of resources by the bigger universities. That will happen once there is a critical mass for the athletes to unionize in order to collectively bargain all of the issues that the NCAA is dealing with in the courts and the state legislatures. That is when the full split from the NCAA will occur.

The only variables are what seats get shuffled in the short term and who of the current big boys gets left out. Cause there is no way it is going to be 40-50 teams. The Alabamas and Texas' and Ohio State's of the world sure aren't going to share that money with the Mississippi States and Rutgers' of the world when the chips are down.

Ive read the speculation based on Nebraska no longer being AAU accredited, but kicking out a current member who is no longer accredited is an awful lot different than admitting a school that never was. At this point, we’re all guessing. I read an article that said they were only considering UVa & UNC, but that was just more speculation.

The Big10 and the SEC have come together to form an "advisory group"....

I don’t think anyone on this board realizes what is happening. We are already second class citizens and that will not change going forward. It will only get worse. I hope we are all good with that.

I don't think it matters as much as it once did since a lot of the soon-to-be former p5 schools will be "second class citizens" with us.

Yep. If they aren’t pulling their weight, they will be jettisoned to make room for the “worthy” ones - all for $$ maximization.
