Chilton’s in downtown DeKalb (on Lincoln, between 2nd & 3rd) has merch with the retro Huskie. Quarter zips, tees, etc

Not meaning it will "take over," but a lot of fans want it more readily available.

(Note: My avatar is from a photo I took of my old Huskie Club sweater. Here's a link to the NIU logos over the years. Enjoy.)

The Fighting Huskie is not back yet. I am spending the afternoon at NIU at the Holmes Student Center. Spent about an hour looking through the large selection at the bookstore. Not one fighting Huskie. I ended up buying a few things (I don’t need) because everything was 25% off. So I was able to get some good deals.

I do not know how students afford the swag. Prices are worse than obscene when not on sale. For example, regular price on a thin Columbia windbreaker jacket was $135! After doing my shopping, I stopped by a Starbucks coffee stand next to the bookstore for a small cafe latte. $5.12! OMG, the students must be wealthy, or they don’t buy anything.

Also, as an FYI, Normal is closed off to cars. So now two N-S campus arterial streets next to each other - Normal and Carroll - are closed to traffic. Makes it difficult to get around. And then they’re supposed to put a roundabout at Normal & Lucinda?? OMG!!!

I believe they should have closed this off years ago to finally create an inner campus without a road passing through it.

I was in the IPF on Saturday before the "game" and they had a bunch of T-shirts with the fighting Huskie logo on them. I'm not a fan of that logo myself so didn't buy any, and I don't remember the price.

I have a fondness for that logo because that was from the time I was at NIU. I have a couple things with that logo but I want more.

STF said that they’re supposed to open up a couple shops that should have things with the Fighting Huskie. Let us pray that they don’t use the ordering model they use for hot dogs.

Be warned. Not all fighting Huskies are the same.

I bought my mom a long sleeve adidas t Saturday .Growling Huskie, legit.

I bought a cheaper short sleeve t. Body is similar, not same. Huskie looks more perplexed, kinda like he’s thinking about taking a dump. He’s also looking the other way. It’s a knockoff.

I think it’s Victor E. and Confused Z.

Better check the sizes, too, if it comes from the bookstore. Two of the three items I bought at the bookstore were nowhere near the size marked.

I'm 2x. I went 3x as I am not a 50+ male model with a daughter lecturing me about shirts fitting wrong like on tv. It's slighly big, but it will shrink a little. 2x likley would have been snug. The addidas shirt size was right.

The Huskie facing the other way is the retro Female Huskie

Great. You know, I thought it might be. But when I saw 3x, I was like no way. Of course the 2 working there were no help when they saw me size it up.

And I even said at the game that I only see women wearing that shirt. :(

Dang! If they are having different shirts for men and women, then they should separate and mark them. When I look for a T-shirt, I don’t guess if it is a men’s or women’s (unless it’s obvious).

The windbreaker I bought at the bookstore had the zipper the way men’s clothes have them. But, it must have been for women because it was two or three sizes smaller than what was marked. Now, when we buy clothes at NIU, we must play the guessing game or try everything on.

Next thing you know, I’ll have to play the guessing game with underwear and end up buying women’s underwear. Of course, I could just try it on, but I may start liking that too much and end up with a drawer full of women’s underwear. Oh well, I guess things could be worse.

Instead of your current drawer half-full of womens' underwear?

Yes. That’s why I said things could be worse.
