With his two-way contract, he can only play in a certain percentage of his team's games, so they have had to manage if and when he's played. He's been going from starting one night, to not playing at all the next. But the Grizzlies are very short-handed inside right now, so he has played in the last four games.

I wish they would just go ahead and sign him to a regular deal so he could play every game.

I'd be surprised if he isn't on a fulltime NBA roster next year whether it be Memphis or someone else. In his brief time he has proven to be as effective, offensively(taking advantage of opportunities and not going beyond himself) and defensively, as many NBA players who are making tons of guaranteed money (Stephen Adams, for example). He would be a cheap, effective player...

Looks like he has been steadily progressing since his first year at UAB and now though his pro career. Hope he ends up wherever he can maximize his talents and get a lot of PT.

I said a long time ago that he can have a long nba career as a backup big man if he gets a shot with a team that values what he does. Not every team does these days. But he is a good defender, sets good picks, can rebound and do dirty work as a bargain contract and will be a good teammate and good locker room presence who also won’t make waves if his PT is inconsistent. Not at all surprised he is doing exactly that — if he got a chance.

I watched a good bit of the Griz game against the 76ers last week and man that was a tough matchup for Trey. To be fair though, when you're matched up against the reigning NBA MVP (even if Embiid was only 75%) that's just going to be a tough night for 90% of bigs. Hope they make his jersey available for purchase soon though, I'd love to snag one.

He made SportsCenter quite a bit the other night. Unfortunately it was not the way you want to make SportsCenter.

But great for Trey. He's mostly played very well when he's gotten minutes.
