Not ideal timing for the Bulls.

RE: Buffalo HC leaving for Alabama Co-DC Position
Man, remember the days when MAC head coaches would only leave for other head coaching jobs? He is the second HC leaving for a coordinating gig in the last couple years. Sean Lewis left Kent State to be the OC at Colorado... now he has parlayed that into getting the head coaching gig at San Diego State.
Kinda shows you the status of the MAC... coaches would rather be a coordinator at a P5 job than lead their own program at the lowly MAC. Bunch of pansies.

Linguist just came off a 3-9 season at Buffalo in the MAC's weaker division. And then an assistant position at one of the nation's premier blue bloods comes calling? At a location not buried under a few feet of snow (he was born/raised in south)?
Seems like an easy decision, though I'm unfamiliar with the financials.

Its Bama. It’s a no brainer.

You can bet the financials were a no brainer, too.

Yeah it’s not much a question here. You take the Bama gig.

Enos bailed on Central for OC at Arkansas 10 years ago so it's not exactly new.

The MAC isn't the "Cradle of Coaches" that it once was.

UMs strength and conditioning coach makes more than some MAC head coaches. The GAP will continue to widen significantly.

I thought that was Miami. But it still rings true for the MAC as it still produces quality coaches. Saban and Meyer are recent. Even Kalen DeBoer‘s first OC job in FBS was in the MAC. Problem is they don’t stay in the MAC and that goes way back.

It certainly was originally Miami, for obvious reasons, but I'd argue it expanded to all of the MAC with Saben at UT, Mayer at BUGS, John Harbaugh at WMU, etc. Sadly the MAC hasn't done a good job of keeping up with the rest of D1-FBS recently.
