RE: MBB vs Charlotte
We had 10.8 seconds to get 1 point with foul-happy refs but all we could show for it was a slightly off balance missed 3 attempt.

Interesting review. Charlotte defender never touched the ball because he only ripped at Evee's hand. Can't assign a foul on review so CLT gets possession.

Charlotte throws up prayer and it’s answered 75-78. Then Owls turn it over. Charlotte ball with 48 seconds to play.

Owls refuse to box out. 75-80 on put back.

Owls squander a 20 point lead and lose 79-81.

Will this team go 0 for conference play?

Refuse to pay to watch us lose, but question? If you are home, tied with 10 seconds left you always take it to the rim. Why did we take a 3? Did we even run a play?

Shouldn't have let themselves get put in a position to let the refs decide it for them. But f 'em anyway. Yeesh.

Possible wins:

February 3 @UTSA
February 28 vs. Temple

Other than that, I see all losses.

RE: MBB vs Charlotte
for the dinosaurs and historians, this team reminds me of Danny Carroll's and Tim Moriarty's senior season (looked it up and forgot that was Polk's first year-that explains it all) or Crawford/Sanni's senior year. Optimism coming into the season and just nothing worked. Losing Quincy (leading xavier in pts/game and second in assists and rebounds) and Cam not being able to play (always thought he was the glue of the team) have been worse than I could have imagined. If they were on the team, whole different story I suspect.

very sad

Sorry you reminded me of the Crawford/Sanni disaster. Highly touted transfers that never delivered. Compare that to Tony Barnett a lightly regarded transfer who turned into a quality starter.

Rice is #239 in Pomeroy - likely the worst at this point of a season since the 2018-19 team that finished at #248.

As expected run the program into the ground with a know nothing coach before making a coaching change. Why not fire Pera now ? He abviously lost the team already.

Because there's no money to buy out his contract. He'll be back next season to finish his last season.

And why is there no money? In part because some who in the past bought season tickets, contributed to SIGs, helped fund special projects like helping to buy rings, Bowl packages, donating to specific facility improvements or new projects and other things have stopped.

During his ESPN+ interview going into the locker room at the half, Pera said their game plan was to jump out to an early lead, which the Owls did. Sure wish he had included something about protecting that lead in the game plan.

Your joking right? Start a go fund me and I bet we can raise enough money to dump him. What a pathetic reason to keep him another year.
