Assume he was considering the transfer portal? Don't know if he has a future in the NFL. He's kind of a tweener in terms of size and speed. Not many can hit harder than him in that 200lb weight class. Unfortunately, football is not played based on weight class.

If my memory is correct, he had an awful lot of quarterback sacks during his time. The most of any UT safety that I can remember. He was a good one.

Mike Kennedy was a great player. He was ALWAYS around the ball. He was a great player and one of the very very best tacklers in UT history. Is he in Varsity T???
Great call Boca

Kennedy is in the VTHOF. Not sure if he’s actually a member of Varsity T. The UT site has the HOF listings under the Fan Zone heading.

And he played a couple years in the NFL for the Bills I if remember correctly. Had the interception against CMU that he first picked off the back of the receiver - then returned it for a TD. anyone else remember that? Is my memory correct?
Looked up his NFL career. Listed at 6'0" and 195 - about the same size as Hook. Played 2 years - one for Buffalo and one for the Oilers. Had a pick six for 22 yards while playing for the Bills. Started 7 games for the Bills his first year, none for the Oilers in his 2nd year. Played in 23 games total in the NFL. Bills were 8-8 in 1983, and Oilers were 3-13 in 1984. Defensive coordinator for the Oilers in 1984? Jerry Glanville - who was at the MACC game vs. Miami and on the Toledo sideline. Maybe scouting for someone? Looked him up and according to Wikipedia (take it FWIW) "
"Jerry Michael Glanville is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma" He's 82 years old.

Saw him last year at a Perrysburg gas station.
