Congrats on being 6-0, but in softball do conference standings mean anything until conference play begins? Everyone is playing tournaments right now, and for example, ECU has the #251 SOS out of 286 D1 schools. Charlotte has the #31 SOS and beat the #4 team in the country. It's hardly apples to apples, but beating who you play is a good thing so 6-0 is great.

We made it twenty years winning 40+ (1995-2014). Hell of a run. Guy who anchored that 1995 squad is now the head coach, let’s see if he can get us going again.
I don’t think the players were very fond of Bragga.

That's okay, thanks for bringing it up. We had four P5 games this weekend and did go 2-2 against them, including our win against #4 FSU. We also run-ruled a scruffy FAMU team, giving us a 3-2 weekend in a premier tournament. I have every confidence that the conference standings will shake out just fine as we all get more games behind us.

That’s great though, should remember that before taking unwarranted shots at conference members out of insecurity!

Those worried about ECU’s opponents will be happy to know ECU outscored them 54-7 and ended 3 games early. ECU’s opponents came from good stickball conferences the A10, CAA, Horizon, and Big South.

Oh Dowdy, you exhaust me. Maybe it would have been more accurate to say that ECU hasn't yet played a team that has a winning record. Perhaps the better story would be that Charlotte is beating Big12 and ACC teams, while ECU is beating teams from the ASUN, CAA, and A10. I don't know, you pick how you would like me to describe it.

Okay, first you have only played three schools so they could not have come from four conferences. Second, Charlotte was in the A10 for 8 seasons and won the conference in baseball three times, only finishing below 3rd once in our time there. The A10 is not a good stickball conference. Northern teams are rarely good in those sports. Mostly though, go enjoy your record. ECU has finished second to last in the AAC six out of their eight years, so focus on having fun right now.

How would they have a winning record with so few games when ECU has beat them all? ECU has played four teams, maybe you should just worry about Charlotte?? ECU hasn’t played anyone from the Atlantic Sun. It’s shocking your need to talk about ECU’s team when you don’t even know what you’re talking about.
If you must speak about ECU it would be more accurate to say ECU beat the crap out of teams from the Horizon, CAA, A10, and Big South while Charlotte split with teams from the ACC and Big 12 with a 11-0 run rule in 5 innings after squeaking one out by a run in 10 innings.

My apologies about the ASUN. Honestly, I am not sure I have ever heard of Cleveland State before. I see they are primarily in the Horizon, but also affiliate members in the ASUN and Mid-American. Somewhat confusing.
For the record, the ECU softball team did beat Cleveland State from the Horizon, not the ASUN. Massey rates the ASUN at #16 and the Horizon at #31. I think I have it straight now. Thanks.

Shockers are sitting at 3-2 to start the season. They've faced three straight All-American pitchers the last few days ultimately getting a win over #20 South Carolina yesterday and falling to #8 Clemson and #25 Auburn in extra innings.
