SMU potentially screws themselves with move to ACC
The CFP may not give SMU a P5(4) share of the playoff money. A P5 share is $5 million, whereas a G5 share is $1 million.

SMU's boosters were so desperate to get into the P5(4), that they agreed to give up ACC television revenue for 9 years, think that they would still be getting ~$10 million/year in other conference money, which includes the CFP share.

UCF, Cincinnati, Houston and BYU all got the P5(4) share when they moved. But the difference is that they were invited because the P5(4) conferences wanted/needed them for balance. SMU, on the other hand, bought their way in, which apparently was not appreciated by the P5(4) crowd.

They sacrificed the TV money to get what they (thought) they wanted. Apparently, their sacrifices may not be over. 03-lmfao

Another blunder within the ACC that might lead to future lawsuits.

If that is truly the case then I'm sure SMU will be suing the living bleep out of the College Football Playoff orginization. I doubt there is a stipilation defining membership in a "P5" conference. Why would there be?

...amazingly, this was not on the AAC board, so I posted it over there, not seeing this thread first... I would have tagged this thread, but then again, not sure if we want all of the AAC folks invading BlazerTalk 04-jawdrop ...in any event, yeah this does not bode well for ANY of we 'G5' folks... 03-phew
