I have heard that NIL $$ at UT is highest in the MAC and more than what some lower level power 5 schools are offering…

Our wbb stars just got cars... leases or not, that's rare in the mid major landscape. Toledo is losing the same amt of players that the highest MWC and American Conf schools are so nothing has changed in the G5 landscape as far as our program rank amongst all 133. Between 40 and 80th is where we still are. Our ability to step further in front of the bottom dwellers in the MAC is coming into fruition I believe... You have to cycle up and keep a program competitive for a title to get donors on your side. Akron, Kent, UB and EMU probably aren't sustaining enough success to be a player in the NIL game like Toledo. Plus there's more business in Toledo to lend a hand at marketing deals.

Definitely UT athletes are getting some NIL money. Looking through social media, a lot of football players and basketball players have promotional/ad posts.

During the game on Saturday, there was a play where they rotated him out. He almost refused to come out of the game. Once he did, he walked to the opposite end of the bench, took his helmet off, and sat down by himself and pouted. He's not the first one I've seen do that this year - I saw Deshawn Holt do the same thing at a home game. He had a penalty called on him in the 4th quarter and he was taken out of the game, so he goes to the bench, slams his helmet down and pouts.

Took a quick look at their roster and saw they had 7 RB's on the roster this past season with only 1 being a senior and 2 that were RS Jrs. this past season. Also have 9 QB's on the roster. Looks like they did a hostile takeover of the intramural football championship team. Should be good fit for Boone. The only other big back on the roster was also the only senior of the RB's, Have no idea how good any of the others are. Didn't watch much of their championship game vs. FSU nor the bowl game they were in.

I'd love to see Boone have a great stat season at UL if for no other reason than to show UT plays good ball and our players can compete with anyone. I also wish him success for life reasons. Can he play in the NFL??? Not sure. His improvement from 2022 to 2023 was astounding. He had one of the best season ever at RB for UT. His YPC were off the chart. I do wish we had him for 1 more season.

I hope UT can offer players meaningful $ long term. I think the hours and schedule a player commits to are beyond just tuition and reasonable NIL is justified and if UT can be a player in the market then that is advantage UT

just to be clear schools do not offer NIL $$ to players...instead programs will have an independent stand alone NIL collective into which donors and corporations can funnel support and secure NIL agreements with a specific players... and yes some schools and sports have much larger and more well organized NIL collective efforts supporting their programs. yea seems to be the case..but of course there is no way of knowing how many players actually receive that cash from NIL collective-guessing even the vast majority of football and MBB players are getting little if any...athletes from other sports even less. The top two Rocket WBB players getting short term leases of new cars is nice-but very little investment or cost to the sponsor there-actually not a bad small useful benefit to the players and low cost PR and marketing opportunity for the car dealership.
