The offsides was close but to me it looked like the wide outs heads and shoulders were clearly past the line of scrimmage. I think that happens a lot on kick off but is rarely called.

This was an ugly second half. I guess it's what you would expect from two 6-6 teams.

I missed the end. What was the call? A surprise offsides?

So their feet are onside but their shoulders aren’t? That sounds pretty unrealistic since the players aren’t cartoon characters. It was a bad call. Their shadows were offsides but not the players.

Lmao imagine the copium necessary to come and defend an egregious call. All of our people were clearly behind the line when Zavada touched the ball.

Our kicker doesn’t miss. We were winning that game. Scurry off to the mac board/lala land where that is offsides or blow the ref like you want to

Arkansas State kicked an onside kick and recovered it but was called offsides. The replay didn’t seem to back up the call on the field.

I sure hate seeing a game decided by someone who doesn't play for either team.

The players were lined up in a three point stance and fired off a little early. It's very possible for a football players head and shoulder to be over the line of scrimmage but their feet still are not past the line scrimmage. Oh well, I know there no need to argue the point because these type of calls are so close. In the end Arkansas State did make enough plays to win the game.

The radio guys called BS on it. They also called Butch out for wasting that TO to chew out the refs some more.

"Offside occurs when one or more players of the kicking team are not behind their restraining line when the ball is legally free-kicked (Exception: The kicker and holder are not offside when they are beyond their restraining line) (Rule 6-1-2)."

So we are arguing that because their head and shoulders were over the line as they leaned forward this is technically off sides? I suppose you can make that argument.

But as an official I think I would have swallowed my whistle.

This is all a moot point, not one body part for stAte was over the line. The flag wasn’t thrown immediately too. Reeks of conspiracy.

stAte got hosed at Texas the same way about 15 years ago.

I agree it was ticky-tack call and is usually not called. If this is a normal offensive play where the defense is lined up in the neutral zone (feet onside but the head is past the line of scrimmage) this is routinely called. This type of offsides happens frequently on kick offs but it's rarely called.

NIU missed some very makeable field goals and gave Arkansas State a chance to get the win but they fell a little short. It would have been interesting to see if they would have been able score if the offsides wasn't called. The ASU field goal kicker looked pretty solid.

We had the majority of the money on us as well per action network. Makes you wonder. Flag came out late and wasn’t from the line judge. We desperately need to find a way to integrate technology into the game so this doesn’t happen.

We got robbed against NIU last time as well on a 4th down call that was just blatantly wrong. At least they won that game by enough
that the call didn’t matter.

What’s the point of playing the game? At least NIU is stuck with their coach. Real winner that guy is. Butch is turning things around with mostly freshman.

Stopped right before kick and the ref was right on the line looks to me like the arm, head, shoulders are over the line
[Image: 11.png]

Right when his foot hits the ball the two at the top are clearly ahead of the ball and the kicker is clearly ahead of those two with part of his body

You better check on your coach, he wasn't looking too good there at the end.

Congratulate yours on his “championship”

I’m fine with our 3rd youngest team in the country getting screwed in a game we played horribly in.
