Florida International beats school by nearly 100
Led by as many as 94 before a meaningless 3 before the buzzer.

Trinity Florida is in the NCCAA. There is also a Trinity International Florida as well in the NCCAA as well. It is connected to the NAIA school in Illinois, but a separate campus from the main one with it's own athletics and all that. Trinity International in Florida was looking into adding football several years back.

Of course Saint David would know something about them.

Nice stat nugget David. Trinity College of Florida play in NCCAA Division 2 aka the less competitive Division in NCCAA. This game was clearly scheduled by Florida International to break records and they achieved that with the most ever points scored by a CUSA team.

The other thing I found out is Trinity College have a dude named Onyx on their team that hardly ever plays but some game time in this one and ended up with 11 points.

No, you are supposed to say huge 3 to cut it 91 at the end like the Chris Paul meme.

There is a branch of Trinity International in Florida, but it doesn’t have athletics, housing, etc.

Trinity Baptist College in Florida does have athletics however.

Mostly dunks, I assume?

All these NCCAA schools sound like college versions of Bishop Sycamore. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to hear the same kind of fraud is going on. The NCAA should ban playing them.

Pretty weak move for FIU to schedule some 10th rate school. There's plenty of NCAA D1 teams out there to try and run up the score on and pad stats. Nobody is impressed at all by it and you basically just look like an a-hole picking on some strip mall college that has maybe 50 students AND you kill your SOS.

I wish they’d ban games against non-NCAA members. I get there are some NAIA schools that can hold their own against some NCAA schools and there are probably a few rivalries with neighboring schools but if it eliminates jokes like this it’s worth the sacrifice.

1000% agree. It violates the spirit of competition. It's like if WWE grabbed some 160 lb rando off the street and then made them wrestle Brock Lesnar.

Non-DI games don't count against the NET.

Some of the NCAA schools are members of the NCCAA. Many of the schools are TRACs, and some are ABHE.

I’m definitely not for banning anyone from being scheduled. That’s on the schools doing the scheduling. Any AD can make the decision for their own school, or a coach for their own program. The season is 30+ games, and no one takes these games seriously as far as records etc.

The NCCAA has at least a couple of victories over D1 teams in recent years, so they are definitely not all blowouts like this.

These are big paydays for NCCAA schools as much as the lower 20 conferences get big paydays for taking on P5 (4) and saves schools money when it comes to scheduling buy games.

As a Denver fan, I hate our four home games against non-D-1 competitors this year, but it is getting really hard for some D-1 mid-majors (like Denver) to schedule non-league home games against D-I competition. Most of them want their own home games, and others fly only for big guarantees...
