With NIL, Athletic Departments Will Change
I am forecasting how the NIL rules may impact college athletics. The number of transfers is making it more challenging to put together a team.

We may see changes in the athletic department and how to work with athletes.

The current football and basketball coaches are their teams' CEOs (or Presidents). It may be too challenging to manage the game staff and build teams.

We see a front office with General Managers and recruiters in the NFL and NBA. We may see this movement in the college athletic departments.

The General Managers would work with the coaching staff to meet team needs (We need a Quarterback! We need a Tight End!). The GM would hire the coaching staff (and replace them).

Men's Basketball will have its own General Manager.

Putting together a team is going to be more time-consuming. It will become a specialized job.

Current athletic directors will be over the GM and coaches.

I think they need to rework the National signing date and transfer portal dates. February was too late, but maybe they make it sometime in the first half of January.

It seems like with transfers, they need to make the National signing date sync with the transfer portal. So doing January seems better than late November. December 4 to January 2nd could be shortened and moved back a little. Maybe December 26th-January 9th. Spring classes will start typically around January 10th this spring.
